Need help from fellow devs.
It's been at least 3-4 years and it's getting worse.
I keep being demotivated, forgetful, inconclusive and not on point with code. (Yeah I know, I rant about angular, but that's a 10 years hate).
Today I'm supposed to do some table component that has pagination, buttons and shit in angular (yeah.... from scratch, they want to design the whole thing from 0) and I'm getting all confused by managing pagination, input to angular components, and all the simple stuff that I'VE DONE COUNTLESS TIMES.
I keep forgetting details, small meetups (under 20 mins) where we discuss lot of small details of implementation and I loose a lot of the details, forget a lot of stuff and have an hard time to put all the info togheter in a meaningful group of informations to have all the information available in an usable way at the moment of developing code.
Often I get rage outbursts because I don't understand things like before and I have to read and write down every fucking thing.
Often I get discouraged because I get lost in the details of big projects.
I have a lot of experience and that's what keeps me afloat.
I got panick attacks for small things and I never had panick attacks.
I feel I would need to stay away at all from programming for 2 months to have some passion back in it.
My mind is exhausted.
Some new brilliant colleagues joined the company and so I feel compelled to compete
and it works solely thanks to my superior experience.
I feel like a total dumbass and mentally challenged now.
Is it burnout? is it depression? What is it?9 -
It's a new year. so everything stops working because tables don't exist for year 2025 in the database.8

Did devrant's backend downsize or something? I came back after a while and the whole app is like, 10 times less responsive, taking ages to load and respond etc13

My lovely colleagues from planning bought me this for "my continuous help over this year".
I love those guys.3 -
Okay so I had an acute derealization episode yesterday, hence yesterday’s post. Ignore what I said.
It was caused by the lack of sleep, the first such case since 2018.
Symptoms included super wide FOV — my arms were three miles long, I saw what seemed like almost my whole surroundings all at once. I couldn’t confirm the reality of that superhuman vision with an experiment because it was hard to grasp reality during derealization. I’m almost certain that it was just my brain extending my vision from memory, but I had no idea it could even do that given how detailed it was.
Also, vertigo was crazy.
I don’t own a funded Interactive Brokers account.
I don’t do drugs, alcohol, nicotine or caffeine. I never ever did drugs or alcohol. I’m about one year nicotine free and about three months caffeine free.
I’m bipolar and autistic. My prescription medications include neuroleptics that slow me down, not speed me up — the standard medication scheme prescribed to millions of patients all over the world.1 -
I am experiencing deju vu:
https://reddit.com/r/csharp/...
dude: Why doesn't C# do this dynamic "like" thing?
community: How dare you like something from another language?! Don't you know C# is strongly type?! Dynamic is a curse on your children! <gets out torches and pitchforks>
random dude: Why don't you use <this method> to do this?
dude: Thanks "random dude", this does what I was looking for with a bit different syntax than I was expecting.
lol
Programmers are awesome!9 -
I fucking despise default open firewalls! Just let me define what I can do and block everything else. I don't want to play whack-a-mole networking by havin to close so many goddamn holes! If I ever see any router doing that again, I swear Mccarthy will think the communists won from all the red from blood!

It's always the 'Poll Of The Day' on some other site that reminds me that there's an actual word for the fear of the Friday the 13th...24

Let's start a discussion about decentralized. EveRyOne caN hOsT hiS oWn ServEr. Do you mean the freaking internet in general? By definition, the internet is decentralized. "Decentralization has a protocol we all use to stay in sync". That existed already, it's called IP, TCP and UDP.. The decentralization protocols are on top of those making it only more limiting. Good, many nodes in sync. Yeah, replicating SQL servers exist for a long time.
People who 'invented' decentralized did just not realize how the internet works. Adding a network on top of a network ending up in a smaller network making it more centralized. "Decentralized" stuff has nothing to add. Just some word for replication protocol or smth.
I'm too sober to fall for this shit.14 -
every time my brain's functionality perks up even a little bit and I regain some functionality I used to have I literally end up insatiably spiraling through the new abilities and God complex all over the place
if you were a god, what kind of god would you be?10 -
wish there were c/c++-like forums and communities but for rust
such a dead gen z language goddamn30 -
Do you watch stuff in fast motion? What kind of monsters are doing that? My best friend was doing it, and now turns out my wife is like that as well.
Why would you watch something in x2. I swear young people don't have any respect for the present moment. Everything have to be rushed, finish early. Would you listen to music in x2 speed so you can finish the song earlier?
I don't get it17 -
I forgot again that android notifications don't work anymore in this app and so I haven't been here in a while, went through 2 months worth of notifications, will probably forget again this platform exists lol
Also side note, the hell happen to retoor and why is there so many of her?2
