Today, I dropped my 5900x while cleaning the computer. It's dead. pins got bent and one pin got loose.
I feel like crying... please send prayers and thoughts.

Apple you drove of delusional suckers! When will your retarded fashion devices finally support WEBP?!
A gallery page with images, and thanks to WEBP, it's 408 kB. Because Google made WEBP and handed out a well documented CLI FOSS compression tool that even can convert the source PNGs to lossy WEBP with bloody transparency. Well done, Google!
Except that Apple's shitty management can't take it that Google actually made something nice, so no WEBP. Instead, JPEG-2000 that enjoys nearly no fucking tool support. The free tools that even can deal with that mostly don't support transparency, and the encoder sucks donkeys so that JPEG still fucks JPEG-2000 big time.
So it's JPEG with matching background for iOS. Fine, but since JPEG's blocky artifacts are much more visible, the compression can't be that high, and it's 769 kB. That's 88% more image data for Shittari than for non-retarded browsers and even Edge! EDGE!!
Oh and if the user changes light/dark system mode according to surrounding light conditions, guess what happens? Yep, since JPEG doesn't support transparency, now it's different JPEGs with dark background via the media query in the "picture" element, and it's another 754 kB download. Bloody 1523 kB instead of 408 kB, that's a factor of 3.7!

Who the fuck at Microsoft decided to put python on their store? I don’t care if it’s on the store. What I do give many shits about is that I spent 20 minutes uninstalling and reinstalling and reconfiguring my fucking PATH because the python & python3 commands did not work but instead SENT ME TO THE FUCKING STORE PAGE FOR PYTHON 3.7
THEN I FIND OUT ITS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE PATH MICROSOFT PURPOSELY CREATED ALIASES FOR BOTH COMMANDS SO THEY HAVE TO SEND YOU TO THE STORE PAGE WHEN YOU TYPE python OR python3 INTO THE CMD OR POWERSHELL.
I turned it off after finding that out, but I’m still furious. Fuck Windows.22 -

Updated the site Joomla from 3.6 to 3.7. Then got a call saying some pages weren't working. "No problem," I said, "we have backups." Restored a backup, but then found out it was corrupt... The entire site went down 😭5

(Dev)Life in the past 12 hours
Oh boy have the last 12 hours been a roller coaster ride for me. Noob me decided to "compile" AoSP for my device to get a taste of how custom ROMs are built from source. Overall it was fun but the errors were a very good excercise for googling, SO. Couple stuff I learnt ( possibly useful for anyone who comes here )
* The shebang line ( #!/usr/bin/env python ) on my system translated to Python 3.7 environment instead of the expected Python 2.7. Best solution I think to avoid confusion is to create a python 2.7 environment and source it.
* Get your trees right. A jar file called WfdCommon.jar ( apparently known as wifi-display common ) was the cause of several hours of hunting the fault. My vendor tree somehow didn't have this file so dex2oat was borking out like mad. I'm still amazed how I figured this one out almost by myself. ( Basically I had to check every file included in the boot class path, and find the odd one )
* I wasted a lot of time in finding the right files to change version numbers and all. Maybe I didn't search XDA properly for a guide ?
Overall it was a fun experience. Also if anyone's experienced in this area could you share resources to learn more about custom ROM development? Specifically on the tweaking part where you mix features from different ROMs to make a great ROM ( like AoSP extended or Pixel Experience ). All I could find were on the zips and not on sources.7 -
Why 4 TB external disk only read for 3.7 TB? Where's the fahking 0.3 TB / 300gb
...?
*RIP English, sorry*7 -
Wow apple really did - they arrived where microsoft was 20 years ago.
Apple ads used to be about the experience, the lifestyle, simple and elegant.
Now all we get is ‚3.7 times faster‘, ‚13x faster graphics card‘, max and pro CPUs (probably home, home pro and home premium too some time …).
‚advanced thermal architecture‘ ….
Bullshit bingo deluxe …🤦13 -
some genius modafaka thought REPLACING python3.6 by 3.7 in all the dev machines is gonna be fine... the whole team is going nuts... fuck you IT... who gave you the permission5

Trying to install python3.7 for one fucking dynamic library for the past 3 hours. Built from multiple 3.7.x sources, tried altinstall, enable-shared, install, with/without optimizations, tried virtualenv which is absolutely fucking irrelevant but I tried.
Now I'm just asking someone who has it to send me the worthless soup of voltage fluctuations
oh and fuck python. or people that use it irresponsibly. im not in the right mind to distinguish

I feel so useless when code doesn't work do to an external library out of my control
(Protobuf support for python 3.7 sucks)5 -
Company I work at has several offices over the world. Our internal repository for code is held in our servers in China.
Pushed code using a regular connection - 45 minutes for 3.7 MB worth of files
Pushed code over VPN - Instantaneous for 6 MB worth of files

This is a simple Gmail terminal client that can perform filtering and few actions on the filtered emails. Used python 3.7 and sqlite to store them.1

Hello everyone. I'm getting interested in neural networks and I am trying to install the TensorFlow machine learning API using Python's pip package manager but it gives me an error saying that the package couldn't be found. I made sure that I spelled everything correctly and tried using VirtualENV to install it as well, and I uninstalled Python 3.7 and installed 3.6.4. Could anyone help me?4

Excuse my question I might be the one to blame, but on Typescript 3.7 JSON.stringify parses numbers as strings, while on 3.4 it was working without issues.
I'm no pro in web dev but I did use JSON.stringify lots of times and that's something strange here, not sure what the cause is, but when I parse number props again using parseInt(value.toString()) it works .-.2
