Posted a Google form link for recruiting interns for my startup. Here's the response I got

This morning Google asked me to come away from a search and into this dark portal to begin its underground recruiting process w/ me. Humbled += Intrigued.

This is a rant because they also gave me a deadline and I have other deadlines, Google!

But the REAL question is: tabs or spaces, Google?

Oh wow.
Google deems me worthy!!?!!

Recruiter: Hello I’m recruiting for an exciting opportunity at a rapidly growing company with loads of potential

Dev: *Looks up company on google*

Dev: Their stock has been declining for the past 2 years. 3 months ago their valuation just dropped by 80%…. How are they growing?

Recruiter: Oh that happened to every company at the end of 2021.

Dev: …I guarantee you it did not.

Recruiter: …

Dev: …

Where I currently work (and have done for 10 years) we were recently recruiting for another dev, and one of the other devs and our line manager were running the interviews.

After 3 or 4 failed interviews they decided to test the questions on me... I got 3 out of 10 :(

My argument was (and still is) if I get stuck programming I can google, or you can teach me new stuff. And I can make a good cup of coffee

Ok, so I'm one of the new folks here, and spent some time looking around.

And I've read so many of you write about levels of insanity at work that just baffles me.

Why do people do that to themselves? And no, I don't mean you sales-manager, or your boss who hired the wrong kind of dev, I mean YOU.

You are a developer, currently the market for devs is so large you can literally pick your jobs. And if you don't know how to find a new job, just Google (easy mode, search on LinkedIn) a company which specializes in recruiting, there are tons of them, and they will gladly search an employer for you.

Don't get stuck in a job that sucks - you will kill your motivation, and you deserve better.

Recruiters on LinkedIn be like "Yu sim like a fit is much good at in company ours indutri tek AI is startup! Google is invest we money in! Kan we talk is good?"
Seriously, lay down the Google translate. Why even bother recruiting in a language themselves can't understand?
