Hopefully I'm getting an early promotion this month and moving to a city I wanted to 😄

Also got a glowing review from the boss to be read by his boss.

Gonna negotiate the raise tonight. Naturally, I'm super happy, so I Thought I'd share. Wish me luck.

I think this is interesting and evil at the same time.

You make a huuuuuuuge(like...YUGE level) code base available to a lot of people marketing certain things at an enterprise level and for small companies to use. You make sure people implement a lot of shit with your stack.

Then you tell them that shit will cost money from now on.
And because they might already have a large codebase they can't just change it to whatevs.

Shit is brilliant, moronic and funny at the same time.

Wondering what Gosling is thinking about this whole deal.

If anything this whole thing will make people switch to the excellent OpenJDK platform more and more. I know that starting with Android N google had already moved to the OpenJDK.

Oh well. Wonder if this would make Java developers more vailable and hard to come by cuz I still love the Java programming language and like the monies.

And know I have no soul.

So got a recruiter reach out to me for a Java position in the medical industry..

Anyone got experience with that kind of stuff?

I'm kinda torn here because I like where I am, as in I like the people and the industry.

The actual work though.. Ugh
This stupid apache wicket framework is killing me.

So

The case for:
-no wicket
-hybrid (at the moment I'm 90% in office)
-More monies are always nice (recently bought an apartment)

The case against:
-I like my people
-I don't really wanna risk another probation (see above, apartment)
-I'm not great with change
-It might be a bit soon (I started my current job in Nov last year)

Anyone use docker in production handling monies and hundreds accounts? In Django in my case but doesnt matter the framework. More concerned with security and stability moving from paas to docker based paas. Worried I'll move everything to docker and end up moving back to vms bc of some issues or some vulnerability.
