I'm writing my bachelor thesis in LaTeX. As people who use LaTeX might know, it generates shitloads of files while compiling (like 10 files per .tex file).
To unclutter my project folder, I wrote a simple one-liner bash script that deletes all files which are not .tex or .bib files (literature references) and of course it will not delete itself (although that one also took me longer to figure out why my script 'kept disappearing for no reason after I ran it' than I'd like to admit).

However, I forgot that images are also files which are stored in the project-folder.
And this is how I suddenly lost all of my images for no reason at all, resulting in my PDF not building anymore. Luckily we all commit and push all regularely, right...

Edit: I just figured out that I'm even stupider than originally thought... My .gitignore ans more importantly, the '.git' folder also neither end in .tex nor .bib. Guess I'll just go fuck myself.

Alright, I'm grown up enough to admit it publicly: I DON'T LIKE GOING OUT TO PUBS OR OTHER DRINKING PLACES. Even if it's to take a company guest out for the night. Or a teambuilding. I don't care. If you're gonna meet up just to sip booze and talk about stuff, I won't be there.

taking the guest to play golf - sure. Take him to a range - blasts of fun! Horse riding - absolutely. Go-carts - hell yeah! Basicaly doing ANYTHING but sitting, getting dizzy, slowly losing control of my body and thoughts and sharing that experience with someone is a better way to take a guest/client out or have a teambuilding.

DO something. Not just sit and drink and slowly get stupider in front of someone.

Is the general public getting stupider or am i getting smarter?? I love my cousin to bits but every time he speaks, i lose brain cells. I didn’t always think he was this dumb. I find a-lot of people are too dumb to interact with lately so i stay in my house, alone, typing code and laughing at Netflix. Am i the problem?

In the project I'm working there is an strict rule : NO COMMENTS!!!

I mean wth, the times I've spend hours trying to understand the crappy legacy code in VB.Net that has been there almost decades, that wouldn't happen with comments, I know i know there are some supernatural developers that think in binary and their eyes work as compilers, but I'm not like that, so seriously go to hell.

P.S. Of course I follow that rule, after all, my code is so damn perfect that even a baby can understand it.

Was Away from laptop for few days.. Feeling stupider then ever before 😂

So I come into CS class and the teacher, whom my opinion of is not excessively high, gives us a pseudocode task to do. After 10 minutes or so he says he'll run through it with everyone.

He then proceeds to opens python IDLE and starts typing pseudocode.
At this point I'm like 🤨.
Then he tries running the pseudocode. Now I'm thinking he must have had a really bad day so far or is just being stupider than normal.
When it doesn't work he starts getting annoyed and changes some = to == for what reason I am not entirely sure (though I'm not entirely sure why he thinks pseudocode is python either).

Everyone's been telling him that what he's doing is not going to work, but I don't think he really likes listening and continued frustrating himself.

After a bit we just leave him alone and carry on with what we were doing before he decided to gives us a lesson in what the purpose of pseudocode is not.

If not for the few talented and understanding individuals who haven't decided to kill themselves because of the idiocy in this world, our species would have ended years ago with idiots just progressively introducing stupider and stupider ideas.

Just an idea...

Fuck scam calls and texts. I feel like wrapping their phone cords around their necks and beating them with the handset.

So short story long, I'm looking at developing a website that has a list of websites and endpoints for text and call subscriptions. The stupider the better. Enter the annoying phone number or email address, subscribe them to every damn service on the list, and let the fun begin.

Has anyone got any such websites they'd like included?
