@iiii some countries have no chance of ever producing anything, so their only chance of survival as a sovereign entity is being a tax haven/buffer zone for other countries. think Andorra or Malta
-
Matter of fact, retoor's AI added retoor to the spammer list too
-
@retoor wtf?

@Root carbon fiber-reinforced printing filament
-
@CoreFusionX nah, still sounds good to me.
-
@BordedDev that I wish you saw

Those who don't vote because they're waiting for the perfect candidate to appear are doomed to be waiting forever. Instead, one should vote here and now for the lesser evil that is immediately available. Every politician is a scumbag, no exceptions. Every old politician is a pedo, no exceptions.
-
@CoreFusionX ahem? Spain is a dictatorship? FYI: I'm allergic to white boys calling democracies dictatorships over some twitter shit. In Russia, you may go about your day at 3pm, then suddenly at 8pm you're at the police station, and by 4am you sign a document stating that you did 9/11 and raped putin's daughter. When they put those metal clips on your earlobes and pass some current through, it does something to you and you crack.
Unless shit like this is happening left right and center, the country is a democracy. -
I wish my mother was dead

@antigermgerm read my rant again friend.

@antigermgerm remote jobs won't exist

@tosensei large scale war is a different scenario I explicitly opted out of. Stockpile of 100 years is infinite.
-
@tosensei I studied scrum in the uni. I don’t have to convince you
It’s enough that you’ve read my message, and you’ll remember what I said -
@tosensei uranium can totally be stockpiled to last a hundred years. I remember a pic from an old German book on atomic energy I read when I was little: a cargo train packed to the brim with coal, and a 10cm^3 cube of uranium, saying they were equal in the amount of energy they produced.
I can agree with the wind thing, especially since Siemens makes wind turbines. Sun though? You have to produce your own solar panels, and they are 100% Chinese made now.
Nordic countries just import their food. -
@donkulator doesn't have its own military production, can't survive without the US
-
@BordedDev thanks!
-
@JsonBoa 1957: The U.S. Army and Marine Corps adopted the metric system. Used as the basis for their weapons and equipment.
-
@tosensei what you’re doing probably works, but it isn’t scrum. And that’s a good thing!
-
@tosensei classic scrum has one purpose and one purpose only: to eliminate underperforming workers and replace them with new ones who perform better. This completely dehumanizes workers. No wonder scrum originated from Japan — the country with the most toxic office work culture on earth, where people work 80 hours a week and often commit suicide due to overworking.
Every “scrum” variant that is not classic scrum has all the harm and none the benefits.
Scrum is “perfect” in organizing, say, vehicle manufacturing plants, where blue collar workers are interchangeable and replaceable, pool of job applicants is infinitely large, and personal touches don't matter.
Applying classic scrum to IT teams, especially to startups, can be disastrous. -
scrum is scum

@antigermgerm thanks!

the chess grandmaster and world champion Boris Spassky and Skype died on the same day. Coincidentally, it was my birthday.

@retoor Apple thing isn’t spot on, but so far it’s the most accurate one.
-
@retoor dreams still suck. Sorry.
“I interacted with X that is also Y”
“Suddenly, A that is also B interacted with me”
“I wake up” -
@retoor about eyes: the thing that has your eyes is your death. When she comes, she will have your eyes. I’ve said that previously here on dr

@JsonBoa I am the suit

@donkulator exactly. Safari doesn't scare me in the slightest — when I started doing frontend, I used to walk 1.5 km to my closest Apple Store to test in Safari because I was poor af. Then, I did frontend that had to work in IE 6. I used to code for IE 5.5 just for the fun of it
-
@BordedDev if your layout is spec, it will always work in safari as-is
this is why I do my frontend in safari to begin with. it's a very good hack detector/early warning system -
@BordedDev everyone touching frontend without any respect to the craft are quick to blame their tools/browsers/standards/other people — everyone but themselves. More often than not, the issue they've spent last 8 hours wrestling with has a simple and straightforward fix they would've discovered themselves if they just dared to read the spec/at least MDN
-
@BordedDev if your layout needs extra effort to make it work in safari, your layout is wrong/it uses stupid hacks instead of proper solutions. safari is in fact less forgiving to bs hacks/shitty historical conventions that aren't spec. this is why it's so slim and fast
