I've never had a great experience working with designers, but this one might be the laziest! Props if it's for a friend and unpaid though.15

Hired a new backend Dev. He writes a script and sends it for testing...
Tester: "It's not working..."
Backend Dev: Goes to Mongo and deletes the tester's whole profile...
I cant control my laughter every time I remember this incident...He claimed it was a mistake, I don't think that it was a mistake...the tester had it coming...
"It's not working" that's all he says every time...I mean at least give me something to start with...!4 -
Child: Dad, why does the sun rise in the east and set in the west?
Dad: Son, it's working, don't touch it.5 -
They're giving multiple projects to work on and it's so fucking hard to remember workflow of 4-5 projects while working on side projects as well8

~Ring ring~
Me: Hello, how can i help you?
User: The system is not working
Me: It's because there is not electricity
User: Oh, thanks
10 seconds later
Me: Hello, how...
User: Hi, it's me again, i checked in the building and there is light in the hallway
Me: It's the emergency lights
User: Oh, thanks5 -

When you show people a working prototype of what they asked for and they immediately start point out flaws.
IT'S A FUCKING PROTOTYPE, DIPSHIT!6 -
Marketing: it's not working...
Me: *fixes bug and pushes changes in less than 5 mins*
Me: Well it's working for me
Marketing: strange... it wasn't working 5 minutes ago...
I love their faces of confusion haha11 -
It's such a lovely day, sun is shining, think I'll sit outside with my laptop and a beer and continue working on personal project.
(...goes outside)
It's too bright, can't see shit, plus working on two screens is easier
(goes back inside) -
My train is running Debian...
Normally it just shows the PXE boot screen when it's not working.
Seems like they've improved 😂7 -
Working on a fuck off/you message service. You can easily generate a fuck off/you message and send it to someone.
No clue why I've (nearly) made it, maybe because I'm sick at home and wanted to make something.
It's nearly working though, yay.16 -
It's never enough, is it?
I was going to write a simple dns server/proxy/firewallish thingy in php.
That's working. I'm adding a dashboard and api now 😅13 -
I hate how one of my hobbies can get me tipsy so easily.
It's really hard to combine it with the working life sometimes 😖😩
I just love special beer(s), it's more than just beer for me, it's a hobby!22 -
Trying to explain to a coworker that the AJAX call he would like to do will not work due to same-origin policy restriction.
Coworker: «But for me it is working.»
Me: «What browser are you using?»
Coworker: «Internet Explorer»
LMAO2 -
Working on a data structure project for a university's course.
Made a dictionary and was testing it's search functionality. 😢4 -
It's Friday, and I'm working from home. What better way to start the day with gulp and coffee with icing on donuts... Happy Friday to all :)15
-
i hate the phrase "It's working but I don't know why". If you don't know how it works, it means it doesn't work at all and will fuck you up soon.6
-
When you realize the legacy PHP code you're working in has a class you're extending with over 2000 lines and you think, "Nope, this isn't a class, it's a university."2
-
*Deletes system32*
Omg why it's not working anymore? Holy shit windows suck. I didn't even do anything and it stopped working. Fucking useless OS.
sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /
Oh it's understandable it's not working anymore, I fucked it up myself.13 -
I just f*cking hate front-end. I don't care what it looks like as long as it's working how it should.16

127.0.0.1 sweet 127.0.0.1
I don't want to leave my bed but it's working time.
Another day of happy coding :)1 -
I hate the feeling of not being able to get shit working and it's time to sleep but you don't want to sleep until it's fixed4

Working on my boss's code. Spent over a day trying to figure out why the array wasn't working to discover it's custom built to start at one.5

Got arch Linux working on my laptop.
Installed Budgie GNOME, Cairo dock, Termite, VS Code, Code::Blocks, Android Studio, IntelliJ....
It's so beautiful9 -

A few years ago I configured my wifi extender.
Got everything working as I wanted.
Changed password to my favorite 24char password.
Can't login again...
Meh... It's working as I want and is secure, not even I can login.
It's still running in this state.3 -
Ever had the feeling "My code is working fine but I know it's so messy and I should make it readable for others!"
-Never done anything13 -
When I get to someone's laptop and it looks like this... Does this not irritate you while you are working? it's nasty11
-
Out of all the bugs, the most annoying are the ones that come out and make me say "WTF?!?!? WHY THE FUCK HAS IT BEEN WORKING FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS??!!?!!??? THERE"S NO WAY IT COULD HAVE!"
When the bug surfaces, you investigate and see that it indeed IS a bug and there's no way it would ever work w/o a fix. But then SOMEHOW it's been working just fine for years....
It's like server elves went on strike and said "no more, it's enough covering that bug - it's time you fix it, lazy-ass idiot!"11 -
Got devRantron up and running and it's already found a place next to my editor :D
Now if only image uploads were working...6 -
It's 1:20am
Body: let's sleep.
Heart: beer or rum.
Brain: why the hell js is not working as expected? -
It's not a bug if a feature is working how you told me it should work but not how you wanted it to work.6
-
It's currently 11:21 pm were I am, and I just finished working
I decided to deploy on a Friday
Those two things are related9 -
It's so fucking amazing : working on very low levels concepts such as a malloc implementation makes me understand computer science as a real science. I love it 😍2
-
Me: *finds bug*
Me: *starts working on a fix*

When it's 10pm and you decide to install Arch Linux.
Suddenly, it's 6AM and you still don't have it working correctly...16 -
Is it working..?

I think it's working! ^~^
Tell me if this looks correct, I'm trying to mimic the linux CD command in my game:23 -
I guess I'm not the only one who sometimes code in my dreams while sleeping. Maybe it's because working as a programmer is like a dream come true.4

Double tap-like is not working properly on my Oneplus 3T while on list view. I'm wondering if it's just me or if it's a bug in the Android app...18 -
TFW you spend 30 minutes debugging an app that isn't working right only to find out it's working exactly as it's supposed you, you just forgot you put that bit in there that does that thing.
One character change later and it's working perfectly. ONE CHARACTER! THIRTY BASTARD MINUTES! I just spent thirty minutes driving through every line of code and coming closer to the conclusion that Java was doing some kind of strange thing with dropping objects from memory. No, it wasn't Java that had memory problems, it's me! Just check me into the old peoples home now so I can spend my day pissing my pants and making lewd comments at the nurses because that's all I'm fucking useful for at this point!!
I need a coffee.5 -
They gave me a file, .php, that was the entire webapp. THE ENTIRE THING IN A SINGLE FILE. It's frustrating that I have to organize this before I even start working on my tasks.
I guess its not super horrible since it's a rookie project but it's still horribly and unnecessarily time consuming.5 -
was working on a passion project, looking at the clock periodically. was surprised a couple of times that it's still before 12 but kept on working. it wasn't. its 3 am. windows' clock was stuck. i have to get up in 4 hours. fml.3

Turns out cpp isn't the terrifying monster it used to be! I must be doing something wrong, it's actually working.4

Writing some algorithm:
me: *codes for half an hour*
"hmm... isn't working... wait wtf this isn't right..."
me: *codes for an hour again*
"still not working hmmm... wait what no this isn't supposed to work..."
me: *codes for a few hours*
"still not working God damnit.... it's supposed to work now..."
me after another few hours: MOTHERFUCKER CAN YOU START FCKING WORKING FUUUUUUUUUUU1 -
This is what u get when u trust your teammates on a group project.
Not my fav function, but I was rofl when I saw it 😂
That is, until the frustration of working in a group kicked in10 -
How long should I watch the senior engineer get frustrated that the emulator hardware isn't working before I tell him it isn't plugged in? It's only been 45 minutes so far... 😂1
-
Been taking a course on php and I'm currently working through a cms project. It's just so satisfying learning how all the data communicates from frontend to backend.4
-
Don't you just love it when the lead developer/project manager comes in and totally revamps your code even though it does the same exact thing as it was written before? And then when it's not working he blames you because it's in GIT as your commit...2
-
Yesterday evening I began working on an SSL proxying system for dynamic domain names using Let's Encrypt. I finished just a few hours ago and it's working flawlessly!3
-
I work with someone who uses the mouse to click on the save button to save a file. To give you the gravity of the situation, it's like working with IE2

When a client calls you after hours saying their website is down, you check it and it's working... Then the client says "oh, I was spelling our own domain wrong"!!!!!1
-
It's ironic how I could seem to get ms Silverlight working on windows 10 and now I got it working in Linux through wine
Seriously anyone who uses Silverlight in his websites or web applications should burn in hell7 -
I've been working late nights for so long that falling asleep when it's still dark is an achievement for me. So is waking up when it's still morning.1
-
Believe it or not, none of these mices are working. This is my traveling setup, this laptop used to be a gaming computer, but now it's just really tired (but it still can run servers so it's k)5
-
Client: "But why isn't it working. It should work"
Dev: "Sorry but it's not in your requirements"
Client: "But it should work"
fffockins 😡1 -
Have to finish this code today but only slept four hours last night, coffee isn't working anymore, making the most stupid mistakes and constantly dreaming away while looking at my screen because I can't focus anymore. Also, it's around 25 degrees here and the vents aren't working that great... fml.1

> Old job does away with working from home
> Half the department of ~100 quits within 3 weeks
It's almost as if IT people want to work from home 🤔🤔🤔4 -
Working on a damn old Android app's source code so it's usable in more recent versions (back when 2.2 Froyo was new). So much has changed in the Android SDK...1
-
I recently started working with some adult content websites for my client, it's good money but it's hard working on the websites at home because of obvious reasons.
I want to avoid the awkwardness, so does anyone know of a plugin or some solution to black out all images on particular sites?8 -
Renting a flat above a kindergarten.
I hate Christmas songs and I am very sensitive to high pitched noises.
It's a bad time in the year to be working from home...3 -
I loose it big time when developers in my team say "it's not working" and don't even care to explain what is not working and what were you trying to do....2
-
I know this is kinda late but it just came in this morning..
With the current codebase I'm working with, it's not that bad of an option...😉1 -
I rebooted a device that everyone uses
It has not come online yet
It's been an hour, and counting...
What a good timing we're all working from home eh?3 -
-Writes a function that I'm going to schedule for django.
-works in development.
-adds it to production cron using django-crontab
-not working.
-spends 3 hours editing code, searching for similar problems and reading documentations but find nothing wrong and it's still not working.
-maybe it's django-crontab so I decide to just write a custom management command and call it through cron.
-still not working.
-calls function using what I'm telling cron to do.
-everything works.
-?????????
-adds logs to cron command (sorry for not making it earlier)
-mfw the code is not working because I imported 'patterns' in urls.py which has been deprecated since django 1.8 -
Finally, it's working..
A new device added to my Collection.
Welcome Echo Dot !!!!!
Long list of skills planning to implement..6 -
Working out regularly.
It's a nice break and it wakens my mind and body.

Windows is weird. Flagging a fully functioning game application as (Not Responding). It's not even lagging or freezing. It's just. Working. Perfectly.14
-
What's your favourite IDE? 😁
I'm currently working with Emacs and it's great! (But Sublime Text is still beautiful)20 -
Solo Android app developer here. It's 4AM where I'm working. Been working alone on a project for the last 20 days. Looking to get some inspiration and discuss new ideas with other devs.
So hi!
What's up with you? What do you do?20 -
I feel like an imposter. I am running an IOT startup alone and it's in development phase.
Product and the app ecosystem is working so well that it's scaring me. Other products are quite finicky. I haven't worked long enough. I imagined it would take an year to develop. My code is quite simple. I just don't know why it's working so well compared to the works of others. I am scared I missing something huge.
I am in depression because work is going smoother than my expectations.10 -
Currently working with @Kreischo and another good friend to create a secured, encoded container to store files in it.
I am currently working on the frontend of things, thinking it's quite beautiful.. (Done with Electron)
Your opinion?25 -
It's 2:49AM
my fucking brain starts working in high performance mode right now and sleeps not exist anymore :/1 -
Client: it's not a feature it's a bug
Me: comparing with the old system and proofing that it is currently definitely working like it did in the old system
Client: I didn't instruct you to check the old system
Wtf?1 -
That awkward moment when you convert JS functionality into pure HTML CSS just to find out it's not working on IE.1
-
I'm sitting here at 1 am working on a side project. There's, literally, a bug in my code. It's bed time.9
-
Me: I don't understand, why is this not working?
After a few hours of debugging and continuous re-starting the server and most important praying to GOD
Me: F**k! how is this working? Ok let's not touch it, it's working -
*spends 2 hours actually coding and working on the project*
*remembers hasn't made any commit*
Welp, guess it's time to do the git shit. -
At least Linux is honest.
Maybe it's a sign that I've been working too long again... but it's nice to see some blantant, unobfuscated, basic descriptions once in awhile. I had to lookup syntax for a specific param... it's these little things that pleasantly break through and offer brief respite.7 -
I've been working remotely for more than 6 months, but today it's the first time I'm coding wearing only underpants
Living the dream4 -
Hi guys! Im jr dev and i had a great week! My girlfriend letf my house :'( but my project it's working very well on production. It's not a prank!
#TrueStory7 -
When you loose 15 minutes looking at why "padding: O;" isn't working... it's time for bed.
...
Yes that's the letter 'O' instead of a number '0'.8 -
Here you can see our employer trying their best to throw productivity of the devs down the drain.

10/10 it's working 🙃3 -
20 minutes into working with stock ubuntu 18.04 and instantly remembered why I don't use stock ubuntu... It's so fucking sluggish and bloated!9
-
why the fucking fuck no one, no one explains their problem
It's just the same every fucking time, 'It is not working'
How the fuck'd I know why it's not working.5 -
Product Owner: There is a major bug with your code it's not working.
I then spend hour looking at code to find out.
It's a content problem! -
I'm amazed how some people either think I'm fucking jesus or a god or both.
App XY not working.
Yeah. We're talking about how App XY and it's exhaustion of the connection pool since a year....
It's not working, what can we do?
Well. I don't know. Tried restarting?
Not working.
Well... Nothing I can do, you're responsible for developing the app and we've talked many times how complex the problem is.
It's not working, can u do something?
<Me just fed up increasing the connection count>
Well. I've increased the connections.
This will not work. It's a band aid. The app needs really a complete migration.
Ok. But it works.
No it doesn't work.. For fucks sake... It still exhausts the connections for unknown reasons, this is a band aid.
But it works....
-.-
This conversations was over then....
Well. Have fun.
I reverted the change I did.
May this crappy piece of shit die a thousand deaths, I:m now working on something else.
Goodbye mother fucking bitches, habe fun with the nightmare you created.
I'll cry over the other fucking nightmares I at least can solve, cause what you created in this App is beyond irresponsible and dumb.4 -
Everyone leaving early on Wednesday and you realize that it's not weekend but just No overtime working day.
#welcome #to #japan
Weekend still 2 days away.1 -
You never know pain untill your website redirect is working on edge and not chrome... Yet it's all google hosted...
*Eye twitches* -
Scenario A:
Your code is working. You run again, now it's not working.
Scenario B:
Works on production. Next day it doesn't.
It is nothing you just experienced alternate universe. You probably with your manager temporarily jumped into another timeline where your code is not working.
Next time it happens tell your manager it's not your fault.
Eureka!6 -
At my workplace, we are working on the codebase from 1999. It's built on Oracle Forms and Reports. Fuck my life 😔5

Working on Ruby on Rails for first time..

I've been using git mindlessly for a while now. But this week I've been working on getting a better understanding of how it's working.
There's a lot there that exists, it's nice to be doing it properly and not destroying branches and not understanding why.1 -
it's 1:30am and i'm working and i feel more productive and peaceful working this way (when there's no one and i can concentrate better). this is the developer life? i love it!4
-
This is my first time working with Android Studio and I'm not sure if it's really building my project or just got stuck...
It's been over an hour and I'm still waiting.6 -
So I have an ancient PC at home that has been refusing to boot for the past 3 days. It somehow magically worked this morning and THE POWER WENT OUT FOR 1 MILLISECOND WHILE I WAS WORKING AND IT'S NOT WORKING ANYMORE GODDAMMIT FLUCTUATIONS WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME
-
Was in the middle of working on a game I had been working on for a couple months but had the original copy already corrupt so I was working on bringing it's backup up to the originals point...
Suddenly the power went down mid save, turned the computer on aaaaaaaaand it's corrupt, ended up cancelling the game because I didn't have time to rewrite and build everytbing from scratch again...
Now I don't use hard backups, all gets backed up to the cloud for easy roll back 👍2 -
I spent 20 minutes looking at my Java if statement wondering why it's not working as intended:
if (word == "ABC")
I need some sleep/more coffee 🙃3 -
Okay, it's getting a bit annoying to _hear_ my graphics hardware (NOT the fans. The circuits) working when I'm doing something on the screen.. Sometimes it feels like it's gonna snap and burst in flames or smth..13

Microsoft Windows: this application has stopped working: Microsoft Windows

Two days into the new year and you got made redundant after working there!
Yeah cheers for that! Could done it last year.
Guess it's back to apply for jobs.

Customer service my ass. I wouldn't even call it service. All you could do is check if it's working now. Of course it's working... I've just told you it's fucking working 2 minutes then inaccessible for fucking 10.
And when I tell you that your service had began to loose quality in the past few months you just sit there in FUCKING SILENCE. MOTHERFUCKER JUST TELL ME THAT YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT... OR SORRY... OR GO FUCK YOURSELF, NOT MY JOB... I DON'T FUCKING CARE JUST DON'T SIT THERE IN SILENCE UNTIL I HAVE ENOUGH AND HANG UP... I WASN'T EVEN SHOUTED TO HIM. I was disappointed but not angry... Not until you decided to just ignore me, fucktard...
Needless to say just when I hung up it stopped working again. -.-4 -
Right now business is kind of slow for my company, so I've been working on Documentation. It's been kind of cool to make the gitlab repo, write the Markdown documents, and then push them to the repo when finished, but it's also hard because it's only me really doing anything...rant git in general is pretty awesome coworker needs to pull his weight! gitlab is cool markdown is cool documenttion

0) Because it's kind of Magic.
1) Love solving complex/small problem using this magic.
2) It's frustrating as well as exciting when magic is not working.
So yea it's kinda magical and doesn't matter which language you do magic in. -
Why the hell am I so talkative!!!!!
I think it's better I work alone so that I be less of an annoy for others...
Side-effects of me working at day time..
Missing working at night time all alone..3 -
Go ahead and start programming says boss, we're 95% this project is happening. It's for sure...
3 months later it's cancelled and customer had no idea we were working on it.
#wasteoftime #codethatgoesnowhere4 -
Just spent 4 hours working on a somewhat complex restructuring of my current project that, when boiled down totals about 50 new or modified lines.
While I realize that line count != productivity, all the testing and reworking over that period has me feeling like there should be more to show for it.
But then, there's the fact that it's working properly as it's supposed to now, so I guess it's a win in the end.1 -
It's always a good day at work when you can leave knowing that you were able to implement several working features.1
-
You know it's one of those days when you're scouring through vendor code in order to figure out why your code isn't working
Time to get some coffee -
It's 1:15 AM and I just got gome from work after 16 hours working on some really difficult mission critical things and deploying.
I think it's 16 hrs, my mind doesn't really work anymore. Good thing I drove home safe...1 -
So php7 deprecated all support for mysql none of my previous projects are working on localhost. Moreover,Ubuntu removed the php5 package from it's latest version . FML.17

It's been 7 months working with ExtJS and I've just about Ext.Fucking had it.

Working on my first Android app. 🤔🤷🏾♂️
I've heard mixed reviews about building Android apps. I've used Xcode to build apps before, I'm sure it's the same lol 😂20 -
Is it normal when you give your leave notice, the boss (and colleagues) take it personally that much? It's unraveling more as I'm leaving that I'm working in a hell hole.7
-
Release on Monday === almost 10h of code today... Though it's just an internal release, so not that serious really. Though it's be fun to have something we've been working on for half a year working decently the first time people actually get to try it... Well, well...
-
It's a new year. so everything stops working because tables don't exist for year 2025 in the database.5
-
Returning back to the C# with NET Core was a mistake.
Currently working on a simple web project and I'm already stuck with the simplest problem: cannot connect to the local PostgreSQL instance.
"Cannot resolve host", bull-fucking-shit, localhost is not resolvable, 127.0.0.1 is not resolvable.
Better enough, tried to run Dns.GetHostEntry (which failed from the stack trace) on same localhost and... It's working... Why it's not working on the fucking Npgsql, why it's not working in the lib.
Now I totally understand that I don't get Microsoft's way of solving problems.13 -
it's working ...I don't know how but it's working...I don't wanna know how ...at least not today ...X(
-
Anyone else here love staring at the commit train railways? It's pretty 😍

It's like a refreshment.

The few times i have pushed code to the repo when it's not ready.
Granted it was so i can carry on working on it elsewhere but it wasn't my proudest moment.4 -
Some times I like to think what would I do with my life if suddenly all electronics stopped working...
It's scary as shit, but I think I would survive. I have some other skills (wood working and construction).
Would you?4 -
I was 4 I think. Managed to reconfigure the IP and DNS settings and got the internet working again (it was a dial-up, in 2002). My entire family thought I was a prodigy of sorts (I am not).
Now all I do is restart the wifi if it's not working. -
Working on a CLI based software and focusing more on the logo appearance/colors than the actual software.
if it's a good looking software everything feels more solid to me.1 -
Brand new Mc Donald's just opened, second day the hot drinks machine and Frape machine isn't working, just made me realise it's not just developers that get this ball-ache.

Have you ever been there, when suddenly one/more key of your keyboard stopped working ?
Yesterday, backspace key stopped working on my laptop, I had to complete my work so I started using delete key instead.
Now I'm on my PC and used delete key couple of times even though it's backspace is completely working.2 -
So I have two bugs to fix, their severity don't make sense to me
One is classed Medium while it's just some changes in design and ergonomy
One is classed Low while it's a functionnality that is not working
Priorities ¯\_(ツ)_/¯3 -
When I've already told people it's working, no one appreciates the hours I just spent to fix the giant problems I hadn't noticed.

Tomorrow is the first day in my new company. Working as a developer. It's the 3th and biggest company I'm working in since finishing university and it feels so good. Especially because this job now is in one of the biggest cities of our state.1
-
1. It's working.
2. Why's it working.. it shouldn't be working! Hmmm..🤔
*Finds a solution to a totally unrelated issue after 3 hours*
3. Oh so that's why it was working! 😮😮😮😮😮 -

Did you guys know that the computers in the back of the Delta airlines' seats run Linux? Lol just tell them it's not working right and they'll reboot it for you 😋3

Why do node.js devs think it's okay to deprecate older functionalities while replacing them with barely-working ones riddled with bugs?
Is this a node.js community thing?14 -
I am working on the backend of the event website and my PM expects me to also design logo for different sub-events.
Apprantly it's part of my job.

Working from home via RDP. The lag kills me at times, you delete something, nothing happens and suddenly it's all gone. It's like I'm communicating in outer space with a super slow response time! Arrghhh!4
-
I really hate being treated like a junior noob based on years of experience and timidity.
It's not because I don't express myself often that I know nothing. It's not because I haven't been working for long that I don't know sh*t.
People sometimes..1 -
Trying to create an html parser for terminal devrant, and it's really hard. Made a working xml parser for now. It actually worked!13

Am I the only one that hates working with other developers who think they are some kind of God? I mean it's good to have someone confident in your team but it's so frustrating when he or she starts changing code because "this is better".2
-
It's too hard and so frustrated when working in a group that some of them don't even offer an opinion and participate in.1

I was working on some ground sprites for a personal project and the inside corners became a sun :) p.s. it's not an animated gif.

I like trying the local pißwasser of choice when traveling around. Sometimes it's bad (Baltika, fe). Working out of Glasgow atm, so it's irnbrü, kind of tastes like bubblegum. What's everyones' local drink du jour (alcoholic or otherwise)?31 -
PMs... be wary working for sales people. They are are really good at getting you to say "Yes" to a simple project, then piling on new scope as an "upsell".
It's a skill in their domain. It's a trap in ours.2 -
Hi all, here's a project I've been working on this weekend.
https://nummberr.com
It's a super simple random number generator PWA. Let me know what you think!4 -
Fuck Xamarin! Fuck Xamarin.Forms!
It's slow, it's full of bugs, it's missing basic functionality, it's rapid new updates breaking older frameworks, it's a shitty unstable IDE on both Mac and Windows, it's the need to frequently reopen files or restart the IDE to fix "intellisense" or the false compile errors, it's non working UI builder and previewer, it's connection issues with simulators, emulators and real devices, ...
Have I forgotten something? Probably yes.
Your dev customer for many years.1 -

It seems it's also 50%... aka saves 1hr...
I'm having a rare moment when I actually feel good about and actually did something at my job... -
Why is it that I'm some able to get things working only after I make a guess complaining to technical support about how it's not working...
And it seems no one else has raised the issue.2 -
working in a single file, not separating stuff properly. I don't do that for work related stuff, but I'm very lazy when it's a personal project4

I've been working on the same (stupid) problem for so long that it's easier to feel defeated than to appreciate the progress made. Angular, and development, can be a cruel, quirky mistress.3

So I follow Linus Tech Tips and set my computer's DNS server to 1.1.1.1 but the dumbass in me didn't set any backup servers.
Come Friday night, internet is not working on my computer. After a modem/router restart and it still not working, I thought it was just the internet in the house was down for a little bit (it was connecting to the router perfectly fine). The next morning I wake up and my phone's connected to WiFi and it's working, so I'm like, "great, internet's back"
Not for my laptop lol. Nothing's loading there. Since it's just this device that's having trouble, I decide to forget the network and log back in. Still not working.
I finally remembered my DNS server setting and add Google's external DNS servers to the list and now it's working.9 -
Any recommendations for a first timer of functional programming? Not sure what languages are used the most or have the most community support. For whatever it's worth, I've enjoyed working with C# and Golang, and disliked working with JS and PHP.5

It's prime working hours right now, I'm the only developer in the office and stackoverflow is down. I'm gonna have a panic attack6

Detaching the success of the project Iam working on from my confidence as a person.
It's a one way street to burnout. -
Music on, use half an hour on selecting project to work on, start working and forget time... Realize it's 4am and goto sleep 😐

Saved almost 50min traveling time due to public holiday so less traffic while working on public holiday. It's a loss-loss situation anyway.

It's so difficult for me to keep working on a project for more than a month without cancelling it due to tediousness.. nearly every project of mine also feels quite irrelevant.

Hey guys.
Yesterday I saw something about real-time Implementations using deepstream.io and been asking myself if I should try to add it to the project I'm working on (Angular).
It's important to say I'm working for free, because it's a school project, which in the end is going to be used by real people and solve real problems inside my school.
BUT it's not a required feature. It's more like a matter of vanity.
It's just id don't know if it's worth the time and effort. Or if it will work at all2 -
In your opinion, it's ok for employer to call / message after work or anytime not within the working hour? (Like call you for some task in the middle of the night , etc ..)7

Anyone working on SAP projects? ABAP language? Just received an internship offer and wondering if it's interesting stuff or not.4

Had my first "it's working but I don't know why" moment. Freshly out of the basic courses in university I stumbled into my first project, side quest: got an xml file written with XStream which needed to be re-read by JAXB. Never worked with any kind of XML before and now after a lot of swearing at the computer I did it. It's working, I'm getting my array list with Elements out of the goddamn XML yay!

I hate working with Indians!!!! They are chaotic, their code is a pile of mess, and their mouth full of best practices! It's a nightmare!11

If you're working on a project don't be concerend too much if it's made perfect.
Make a working example first and then go refactoring and improving functionality.
If you want something to be perfefct from the start, you will never finish it. -
the time when android studio sucks.
tried using an updated version of the library and it's still working with the old.
downloaded the latest from github, added as a project dependency and it's still not working. 😑4 -

Having one of those days where I'm struggling to focus on the day job, because all I want to do is switch over to any one of my numerous personal projects.
It's easier to ignore and just slog through with work when there are plenty of people around, but if I'm working from home, or it's a day like today with half the office and most of the management out, it's proving to be rather difficult.
How do you all keep on track when you'd rather be working on your own stuff?2 -
FFFFCCCCKKKKK!!!! SO MANY PPL ASKING ME IT'S NOT WORKING, WHY ISN'T IT WORKING, FIX ... TODAY....
Delegation doesn't seem to work and everyone else doesn't seem to be able to figure things out themselves....1 -
Question: is it common for a boss to make you stay late because your teammates are working on something big (that you're not involved in) and they're staying late? Because he touts that it's team unity, but I feel like it's false imprisonment.8

I'm sorry but what? I restarted the server beforehand, hell, I even restated the computer. Why did it suddenly start working?2 -
Been struggling for the past week to get a feature working in my personal project (which is the absolute core feature), and was just about ready to give up completely.
Quickly decided to see if it would work in Angular, and after a few tweaks from the default template it's working. Guess I'm not switching to React after all, even I did enjoy working with JSX -
I've been so focused on making the E-shop I'm working on as customisable as possible that I've accidentally created a way to destroy it. It's not a bug, it's a surprise feature
