I used to be someone who disliked microsoft and windows, but with the new CEO Satya Nadella things are going in the right direction. Really love the stuff microsoft is doing right now! bash for windows, 24 bit color console, visual studio code and the monaco editor, dotnet core ... lately I have switched to windows 10 from OSX and I couldn't be happier :)17 -
I was working on a thing at work which routes http requests from one endpoint and port to several local services.
I was halfway done when I noticed I just wrote a primitive reverse proxy.
Anyway, I'm calling it GRID, Gateway for REST Interface Distribution.
It's capable of dynamically attaching new routes and services and removing those during runtime via inbuilt typescript compilation service.
Each "runtime module" defines several routes which may have a middleware function (express.js style), which gets executed before forwarding the request to the local service.
I don't know why, but I'm kinda proud of this one; Feels like I made something actually useful for once.
Gonna maybe add a webUI with the monaco editor to write typescript modules without needing VSCode...
Also I may implement a load balancing system for scalability.
It comes with a cli too.
Gonna put it on github and post it here once I'm done with v1.19 -
Is there anyone who has ever used frappe/erpnext?
It drives me nuts, as much as I like the framework doing any thing that needs some basic scripting is a pain!
I MEAN, COME ON MAN, WHY ARE DOCS SO HARD TO COME BY? WHY DOES YOUR "CUSTOM SCRIPT" EDITOR LACK BAISIC LINE NUMBERS? WHY ARE YOUR ERROR MESSAGES TELLING ME EVERYTHING BUT THE LINE THE ERROR'S ON, SO I'LL BE HOPEFULL THE ERROR IS IN THE DEV CONSOLE? WHY NOT USE MONACO, SOMETHING, ANYTHING THAT WILL SHOW SYNTAX ERRORS? I'VE WAISTED HOURS ON LITTLE AUTOMATION SCRIPTS!!!! WHY WHY WHY WHY????1 -
Second day/night with language server protocol and after “I hate my life phase” I think I am starting to understand this shit ( read found enough libraries and examples that are written in some kind of understandable manner to my little brain).
Fucking learning process and no prior knowledge of typescript doesn’t help.
Time to write some simple language server prototype. -
Ha, Microsoft closes my easily reproducible issue with their Monaco editor as 'resolved':
> posted "resolution" is totally wrong, it's not even in the TypeScript typings of their own library or anywhere in the documentation
jesus christ today is not my day
seems like everyone already started chugging the Christmas eggnog, maybe I'd just give up and start do the same1
