Last hour of my job today:
Hardstyle blasting out of the speakers at full volume
Everyone drinking a beer
Boss coming in with "Fuck this shit we're gonna game!"
This is what I call a good end of the work week 😍33 -
A client wanted me to make a website that compared the users face to that of a wrestler. We had done a lot of work, but now he wants to switch it...
to pornstars.
So, I guess the next week of my work is gonna be scraping porn websites. NSFW, for work.23 -
Providing work estimation:
Dev: This should take about 2 weeks
Non dev: Really? But it's so simple. Shouldn't be that long right? I think it can be done in one week.
*After one week*
Non dev: Why is it still not done? I thought you only need one week?9 -
"Can our app work from 8am to 9pm, Monday to Friday?"
"Yes but it's an app, it can run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
"Oh... Is it possible to make it work only from 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday? They're our opening times and we want everything consistent!"
Slippery slope, a very slippery slope...7 -
The CEO at the company I work at has been telling our partners that our PIA is ready. It took me a week to figure out what the hell a PIA was but he actually meant API6
-
Start my new job next week, and just got an email from them asking if I prefer Windows 7 or Ubuntu for my work machine!
I think I'll like it there6 -
So I take an English test at work last week. Today I got the results and I found this at the end. ( context: I’m a humble Peruvian trying to get better at English :) )4
-
This is me.. Earlier this week... At work 😂 when we get tired of coding or get stuck, we take a swim... Or just go home 😂9
-
"Only stay late at work when it makes sense to, otherwise always leave on time. There's always going to be work left, no matter how much you get done in one day."
Best advice ever.
Edit: I have to say it was during my first week in my first recent grad job.2 -
TL;DR they blocked github
I work remotely, that means every once in a while I take my laptop and travel somewhere, work and have fun. This week I am visiting Turkey, they just blocked github 2 days ago... Freaking github... who does that?! and why?!7 -
Last week we had a short seminar at work about 'listening skill.'
In that speaker gave an example how 'natural' leaders speak last in the meetings.
From that day we are having entirely silent meetings.
Now management is planning seminar on 'Speaking Up'3 -
Who else is coming down from a weekend personal projects high after realizing the work week starts tomorrow?
-
Me: the websites now works on all devices.
Client: now make it work on IE6.
*1 week later*
Me: the site now works on IE6 too.
Client: awesome, now make it work on Netscape navigator 56 -
4 week summer vacation over. Did not code any sideprojects and opened laptop only to watch netflix on vacation (Stranger Things ❤️). My liver will be pleased that its over. Tomorrow back to work, hopefully I remember how to code again 😜9
-
*suddenly wakes up thinking I'm late for work*
*Realises it's a holiday*
*Goes back to sleep again*
PS: Sadly this happens every other day of week :/2 -
Languages I have used this week at work:
PHP, JS, VB6, VB.net, C#.
Im not kidding.
Time to relax with some good ol' beer 🤣8 -
me : *leaving 15 min earlier*
manager : IT'S UNACCEPTABLE, HOW CAN WE BUILD A TRUST RELATIONSHIP LIKE THAT
manager one week later: yeah we need you to work till midnight if needed today. You cannot say no.
me : ¯\_(ツ)_/¯8 -
When a developer tells you it will take a week and you go ... hell no this will take me a couple hours...
So as proof you do it and realize you just did their work ...
*faceplam*2 -
"There were a lot of complaints about missing grades" well, yes. That's what happens when you make me grade all 60 submissions every week while I work 10-12 hours a day at my other job, on average.17
-
Your git commit history on your personal branch when you're freaking out and cry tears in joy because the code you spent the whole previous week on to somehow get it to work suddenly DOES work.3
-
I've been calling the W3 Consortium every day for the past week leaving the same message:
"Why the fuck doesn't CSS "vertical-alignment" work on all elements?"
Still waiting for them to return my call..7 -
Voyager 1 passes 17 billion miles today. The farthest man made object from the earth today and it's transmitters are still working after 43 years.
I can't even get the stuff I built last week to work right.7 -
My teachers use the number of commit you do as measure for the quality of your work.
I've the least number of commits this week since I spent most of the week doing encriptions algorthims instead of UIs and unit test as the rest of my team.
But, by their logic, I'm the worst of the group. It's simply stupid.9 -
Blehh
I just cannot stop falling asleep today.
Fortunately I finished all of my important work last week, so all I have left is trivialities. But I would still prefer being awake and chipper!7 -
We're 2 months away from going live.
This has repeated for several weeks now :
Monday : 17 issues (aka bugs, incomplete features)
Work work work.
Friday : 7 issues
Nice. Lets get a good weekend rest and finished this next week.
Next Monday : 17 issues.
QA found some new bugs or some already resolved issues came back with different details.
...and repeat. Exact numbers, plusminus 1 or 2.7 -
After refusing to work over 40 hours a week and refusing to work last Sunday, today I was fired. It's been the 2nd time in my life and it's been the same deal: totally unrealistic timelines and totally unrealistic work expectations.
No big loss. Fuck that place.8 -
Just got a new work laptop last week. An upgrade from a crappy consumer grade piece of shit to a proper business grade 8c/16t laptop feels good.
Also Fedora.15 -
The reason I drink a lot of water so that I can go to the washroom more often just to waste time while I'm at work.
I haven't been assigned any work for this week. Maybe I'll get fired. My manager isn't showing any appreciation towards my work.6 -
I work at a startup and our office is inside a collab-space. Last week they organized a workshop called:
"Using the blockchain to prevent loeliness".
And even worse: people were paying to attend it :(7 -
My week at glance:
Monday: Sunday night hangover
Tuesday:Prepare report for progress meeting.
Wednesday: Progress meeting
Thursday:work little bit for next week progress meeting.
Friday: weekend fever and hence not in mood to work.
#big #company #work #culture5 -
Conversation between my husband and myself.
H: I ordered a game for the switch last week. It was delayed by USPS, and it looks like I got a partial refund due to it being late.
Moi: That's your mail privilege at work.
H: Did you really just make a mail pun? *Snerk*
Moi: This is why we work. ♥️5 -
About to send my entire department on Vacation Leave today for the next week. We have 3 days of work before we go on holiday leave (next week). And I want to give them a 3 day head start because fuck everyone else and I want me boys to enjoy shit beforehand.
Fuck you, managers do care.3 -
The curse of people working "Agile"
Me: So how do you guys work?
Him: Well we work agile
Me: So like scrum? Or how do you guys work agile?
Him: Weeeell.. We meet once a week and show eachother what we've done.
Me: Oh...1 -
My weekend full of exhaustion and sleep is drawing to a close. Time to start a week full of exhaustion and struggling to stay awake at work.9
-
Summary of my week
Day:
Fix merge conflicts at work
Night:
Fix merge conflicts in Skyrim mod scripts2 -
My boss has gone for a long vacation from last week and will be back in Feb. And office feels soooo awesome and fun. No office politics, no senseless meetings. Just pure work in peace.
I wish he doesn't come back only....3 -
Been coding this whole week and I'm so tired right now. Working for other people is completely different from working for yourself.
When you work for yourself you'll never be tired.
#experience5 -
I work at a 6day work week company and this week it was 7. We work more than 10hours a day in a 7×27 foot co-working office space. My manager sits just 2foot away from me to my back. He is toxic as hell and nano(micro) manages the team. I stay very near to office and I feel like I am a dead person just living to work.
Is this a good reason to change the job after an year ? I feel lonely and negative. My manager sitting just few inches away from me makes me feel like a fish trying to behave outside water.
But the best part is I got to work on many things that helped me gain lot of tech expertise still he wanted control every piece of code.11 -
When you get a dinner for 2 gift for all the hard work you put in the last week and realize you don't have any woman to go with because of it3
-
Really? Fucking really?
"This role starts out with a one-week, unpaid trial to gauge work speed and compatibility"
https://www.python.org/jobs/4433/5 -
I currently work 60 hours a week, working two jobs just so I can earn enough money to pay off loans, get better equipment and basically just survive.5
-
I came back to work after a two week vacation to find out that some people left the company and others are leaving soon.
What the fuck happened while I was gone?3 -
Sometimes I leave comments to myself at the end of the work week to remember on monday where I left off
Anyone else does this? 🤔11 -
RIP.
I just clocked off work and end up going to my couch we're I shall spend the next week in a fucking nother COVID lockdown.
Ooh no curfew this time 🥳

How's your week going?15 -
I resign in a week. I need to turn in my work laptop. Calling it a laptop is a vast overstatement. Its a 2005 Lenovo with 4 gigs of RAM.
Most of my actual work has been on my gaming desktop. My work laptop is in a bag and I haven't seen, smelt or touched it for over a year.
And now I'm scared to open it.4 -
I don't get why anyone would choose to do sys admin work I have been doing it the past week I fucking hate it!
Let me program 😠5 -
Manager : This week Monday was national holiday, hence to cover up the delay we will have to work on coming Saturday.
Me : What's the use of having national holiday then?
Manager : It's for recreational purpose.
Me, in my head, WTF!!!2 -
Until last night I didn't realize Christmas is next week. This new realisation have had an dramatic effect on my work ethic. Time spent watching cat videos have plummeted.
-
Find out this week if the internship I've been doing will be turned in to a permanent position... Tanking myself! Doing some work this weekend to make sure I've done the best I can do prove myself.2
-
Why I need to clone myself:
- one of us can stay home learning cool stuff and the second one can go to work.
- Will go to work 2-3 three days per week depending on schedule
- we can build projects faster!
- if we get bored we can play video games together.
And punch of other stuff9 -
*Me starving all the week to lose weight:
Lost 3.5~4 Kg
*Me eating as always during my pause day
Won: 2 Kg
Fuck, this shit does not work, it is like Javascript.6 -
There goes a week of work. I accidentally overwrote my Node server, in production, with a client script, without backups.5
-
60 hour work week deserves down time....no code, just immersion...feel like I'm being watched though6
-
This year, Lord willing...
* get married
* take a one week honeymoon without a single frantic phone call/email/IM from work or clients. Way way harder than getting married!2 -
14,190 emails deleted. I got too damn many emails this week at work alone. I'm scared to check my personal emails5
-
Half a year ago, I got fired in my job. The reason was the same always bullshit; we have very little clients, economy nowadays is terribly bad, our priorities are different now than when we hired you, etc.
The last week I spent there, I heard something about my poor performance and programming skills, and that pissed me off a lot. For six months I worked on a laravel web app for managing customers, tasks and invoices, a fucking CRM, but made specifically for that company just because they didn't know sugar, odoo, prime or whatever.
Parallel to the crappy CRM, I was told to patch some PrestaShop, WordPress and plain sites, and it was hard to communicate with customers, management ignored every email I sent, and all I was told to do was "do as they say".
The result was shit, obviously, and my work showed much less skill, knowledge and expertise than I really have.
After that, I spent a few months unemployed, studying and working as a waiter just to survive, because my contract didn't comply with unemployment office requirements for a pay.
Then I got this job, on an analytics company where guess what, I'm told to write a fucking laravel web app for managing customers, invoices and tasks. In the meantime, I design websites, and communication with customers is shit, and management ignores every single mail I send.
My salary is eight hundred putos euros again, and will contract is wet shit.
I know, maybe I am "not that good" to earn a 3000€+ salary and have a good team support.
But I'm not */that/* bad.5 -
When you're a bored college student tired of hearing your boss complain about making the schedule every week so you code a program that sorts each employee into their job categories, stores the days they aren't allowed to work (due to other jobs and or class schedules), the time of day they can't work and any days requested off. Then analyzes who's available for each shift throughout the week alongside categorizing each day of the week by the amount of employees needed and prints a perfect schedule for her to use that week3

Hello everyone!
This is a kinda follow up to my previous rant:
https://devrant.com/rants/1442655/...
So, it’s been a week since I started the internship. I am kinda lost to be honest.
The first day was awesome, but I have been going downhill since then. I make so stupid mistakes and it seems like I always think different than my mentor/employer (me making mistakes). Then he corrects me and I have to rewrite the code which I had to spend hours to think and get working. 😕😕
As @RantSomeWhere said, the guy is actually nice and still appreciates me and helps me all the time. I am really thankful for that. 🙂
As @plant99 said, I do have to be working a lot to try and meet the tasks that I am given. The employer does tell me to not over work but I still do if I have to, to get the thing done. I don’t feel nice if I don’t finish the work. So I do spend up to 12 hours (not continuously) on it at times. 😅
The code base… oh my god!! It is so bad (to me). Don’t get me wrong, we use the linting and auto formatting tools, but I can’t get over the 2 space tabs in C++ code. It makes me feel like I am not looking at code but at paragraphs of mumbo jumbo stuff. 😭😭
Oh and yes, it is confirmed. I HATE FRONTEND WORK! Especially when languages like JS and C++ are used in combination and interact with each other. 😨😨😱😱
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate JS or frontend, but I hate doing it myself. So not my cup of tea. Kudos to those who actually do it! 😎👏🏻🎊
Overall, I guess, it is going decently. I feel so scared at times, consumed by the fear, that my code will be wrong and he’ll be disappointed in me. Yea I know that I shouldn’t be upset with how others feel. But it does make me sad when I disappoint my mentor (who is still rooting for me). 🙁
I am hoping to get better over time. This is definitely a great experience for me because my code has never been judged before. I have always been the “king of code” in my college/social circle. 🤭🤭
Honestly, this is actually humbling. I guess I definitely needed this 😅😅. And as they say, you don’t improve by being the top. You improve by leaping forward, ending up at the bottom of the heap of the next level, and growing up from there. 😅
Oh and I also realized - remunerative benefits are DEFINITELY motivating 😂😂😂😂
And the 5 days work also definitely makes me MUCH more excited for the weekends 😆😆😂😂
Thanks everyone for cheering, motivating, and giving me advise.
@oudalally I definitely found your advise quite helpful 😁😁😊😊
PS: ooh this my biggest rant/story yet! Yiiipppeeeeeee 😁😁😊😊7 -
So pleased I've got a week off work, I can just relax without even thinking about development. Ahh bliss.
*Opens Visual Studio ten minutes later*3 -
Question I get a lot from my grandfather.. "So you still work for that company?". Yup, worked last week, and still working.. Still didn't fire me, and then I have to explain that it IS an ACTUAL JOB AND I GET PAID..2
-
I wonder how big is the github usage spike around the end of semesters cause us students are determine to fit a semester worth of work in the last week.1
-
Never do personal stuff at work, never do work stuff unless hours are being counted. Proper separation of duties.
Boss always tells us we only work 38 hours a week and any other time we do we can take off later.
Procrastination for work projects thus usually involves working on unrelated, more exciting projects instead of the one with the hard deadline ;)1 -
switched from windows 10 to kubuntu 18.10 (yes it's not arch or gentoo) last week, after the previous system crashed and burned
I had no idea, my laptop can be so fast and work almost entirely without a fan. Live is beautiful again!1 -
PM: are you free next week for an hour to catch up?
Me: sure no problem
PM: Does tomorrow 15:00 work?
Me: hmm 🤔 is today thursday or is it sunday already? -
When your new team-members don't commit their code end of day Friday and you end up working the whole holiday weekend to fix their shitty work while they're away for the week....
Joys of being a team-lead..1 -
So this week we had another team come to us and say they need to go into production...only issue...they have nothing...sorry that's wrong they have something...a vbs script to do their installation which doesn't work...
-
So the company didn't make an offer in the end because I was "not motivated enough" and "too interested in 4-day-week / PTO". Yeah right, fuck me for wanting to have a life outside work. *sigh*3
-
The craziest deadline I've ever had is DEFINITELY to learn Android programming AD WELL AS iOS programming to make an app for a startup i currently still work with, and the time limit i had was a week. This week included learning both languages, and creating the 3 screens they had ready for me. I somehow managed to finish it!
Toughest week EVER, so far.
Thanks a lot, bosses -_-11 -
Now i told u have to work 44 hours in a week, after 3 mounths they will hire me if i be good enough.
Sounds scary a little🏢7 -
Client to Company :This is a complex 1 month approx task. We need this feature
Company forgets to tell employee developer about this.
Meanwhile Client to Company after one month.
Client to Company: We are just 1 week away from the deadline, what's the status of the work in progress.
Company to client : It's going well, we will get back to you on the day of demo.
Company to employee developer: We have this complex task, you need to complete it in 1 week.
Developer mental status gets fucked with over burdened hectic work which has to be completed in a week having no idea of fuck up by the company which already had the information of the task one month ago but just forgot to tell the developer.2 -
When i was in my first cs class and thought I had been in the computer lab for an <i>hour</i> and realized it had been 6 hours. (if I have to work 40+ hours a week, it should be something so fun that I get lost in it and it that feels like 7 hours a week).
-
That late night sunday before sleep feeling, when your are almost eager to know what crap the next day is going to bring you.3
-
Does anyone else feel you have to do the coding part of development outside of office hours, because the interruptions + even anxiety of being interrupted prevents you from getting into the zone? If I have free time at the weekend I can get into work coding and it's great - I'm so productive - isn't this how work would want me to be 5 days a week? And yet, somehow, the work environment doesn't allow it.6
-
Why do I always work on a project intensively for 2 days, don't touch it for a week or two for reason X and then don't dare to touch it anymore.
Damn5 -
there is always somone smarter then you doing this shit.
Also, wait a week after you hear bright ideas from manament, and don't start work untill then.1 -
I've never coded (for work) on vacation. I just turn off my work laptop and my work phone. So I can spend the first week of back to work for going through my email & messages.
I'm not irreplaceable and I work with competent people. (At least that's my goal at work.) -
Fucking long week at work.. but its not all bad. Facebook stock tanking makes up for it. Bahaha fuck em3
-
4 day work week, 8hours/day, great (and free) café, well defined requirements and a comfortable timeline. 30 no-questions-asked paid holidays a year. Pays more than $100k.4
-
😁🐳🏄♂️🏊♂️
Weeeeeeeek - END🤽♂️🤽♂️🏖🏝
-----------------------------------
I am authorized to say FUCK WORK. I don't wanna hear anything else but PARTY PARTY PARTY for these two HOLY DAY.
Long week of work, going to enjoy beach tomorrow.🚣♂️🚣♂️🚣♂️🚿⛱⛱4 -
Choose yourself:
The one who is too lazy too stand up, the one reinstalled his PC literally every week, or the toxic guy that nobody wants too work with.2 -
Starting the week with a 3 hour meeting to discuss importing Customer data to a new crm, if I should be allowed to take the time to do it or not.
I finished it last week and already imported the data to the syst enviroment and scrubbed it.
I spend more time Waiting for meetings and attending than doing the work.1 -
After working for months , I've understood that we should overestimate the time that will be taken to complete a task
But now it's getting annoying , I mean It's been a week I finished my project and am ideal ,
Btw, the project timeline was a week , ( I finished the work in a day ) -
Trying to work on the same project all week, but every other project decided to come in and take priority.
Thank goodness it's the weekend -
All week I was too tired to work on my projects in the nights.
Now it's weekend and I'm still tired.2 -
Anyone else have this, seems like you can do double the work in late night pm/am than in day am/pm..
And I'm starting my internship next week.. gotta be a morning person now :/7 -
First week in a new job left me wanting to work there more.
No mails from old place. Strange. I've left them just as two completely green guys were to come for the first time.
Well, not my problem.1 -
Week 1 : Be told website needs to be responsive for all main mobile devices. Code and complete.
Week 2 : Go back to previous work
Week 3 : Oh the MD is doing a demo this week (which was arranged in week 1) of the responsive site, can you change almost everything and add all this new functionality before Tuesday.... -
You know its a good end of the work week, when you feel compelled to mention the Geneva convention in your last PR before logging off :)3
-
Client wants some cool feature -> I spend a week coding it -> shit's cool -> client updates the design -> the feature is gone from the design
I still get paid by the hour but uhhhhhhhh it really makes me feel like my work is pointless.4 -
Broken teams,
define Agile principles in 2 lines :
Take 2X to your velocity,
and work 80hours a week ;)3 -
Lead Dev sends rant about the app being a week late...
Doesn't take into account that I was pulled off it for two weeks to work on something else and the other dev was on maternity for two weeks :/2 -
Please, can someone explain the term "enterprise" to me. I work in a corporation, I hear it twice a week, I develop it, and still have no idea what it means.13
-
Wow.. back from a two week holiday and feeling absolutely no drive to start work, no motivation to attack anything.
That's the effect of being surrounded by a couple of toxic colleagues for the past 9 months.6 -
It's upsetting to work on something, spend my time and mind on it, for someone to just undo it. The worst part is that i think i'll have to redo it next week.5
-
So how the fuck am I meant to get any work done with no admin access to my machine, no access to the databases I need to work with, firewall rules stopping me from doing anything from AWS so I can’t get to my data? Deadline in about a week... fuck that noise!5
-
I had 2 features I coded pushed to prod today at work! It's my first week at my new job. It made me realize how toxic and detrimental my last job was to both my self esteem and career. I'm so happy!!2
-
This week at work I spent 20 hours debugging automated tests to avoid manual testing that would've taken a few hours.5
-
Our team is small but we pretty much always have fun times. Our bosses have been visiting us this week (they work in a different country) and we've been partying almost every evening, they even paid for it. Our new employee who starts officially next week was also invited. Such a great time!1
-
So, seen this when I just arrived at work earlier this week. Made me think of COD. 😂 We hear them frequently flying over us all day.
-
New line manager is a recluse
Hear from him maybe once a week if I'm lucky
Airs my messages for at least a day
Never felt happier at work -
I did an interview last week.
Recruiter asks me about why I want to work for their company.
I'm too honest and tell them I mostly just don't want to work for my current company.
Next day get screened out despite being extremely qualified for the job.
Shouldn't have been so honest in that interview lol.8 -
The Qt ide lost me three files aka 1 week of work... Obviously it overwrote them with zeros so I cant recover them... Backups??? Well i didnt think of murphys law....3
-
When my boss called me 4 nights in a row at 3 AM where I had to get up at 6 to go to school, and forcing me to work 25-30 hours a week when the contract said approximately 15.4
-
If only this button could make this shitty work week end & launch me in to paradise. I've had it up to here with PMs, clients, sales and stupid people. Any one else? 😖🙋🏼👋🏼4
-
When the company puts a 2 week freeze on all prod updates for the holidays , but still makes you show up for work (with nothing to do). 😭7
-
Why is it most companies think being “agile” simply means “let’s say we do work in two week blocks” but without planning or showcases or reviews, without estimations, with ad-hoc tasks inserted continually, priorities changing, tasks moving to the next “sprint” over and over …
But yes, these companies proclaim they are “agile” and do “two week sprints” when it is nothing more than chaos and rhetoric.6 -
I hate tight deadlines, I'm frustrated, can't sleep, feels like I'm chained to the desk..
Up until I remember doing a 2 months work in a single friggin week, it's a one poisoned chalice 😓1 -
When you have no work all week long because you finish 3x as fast as the estimates. You ask for more work, and due to "red tape" you can't even work on the back log.
Time to sit and look busy :).
Sadly, this is too common for me... I want to be buried in code and tasks! Not sit and twiddle my thumbs.7 -
Last week I received an invitation to lead the development of a e-commerce redesign, replatforming and data migration. I was excited to work on it, and started the analysis and planning, glad to spend time focusing on quality. But Murphy's law is never asleep - this Monday, I was asked to speed things up and reduce a 4 month project to 1 week.
-
When you work for a week day and night to compete a feature, because top management said it's the highest priority. Then when you're about to send it off to test, they tell you it is no longer required.2
-
> Help novice programmer with his task
> Compile his code
> Start it via Visual Studio
> Visual Studio freezes
> Get Blue Screen
> Lose work of over one week
How do you guys relax when something like this happens besides smashing your keyboard against somebodys head?9 -
Company uses Trello to track bugs and features the devs are doing.
End of the week the PM: "So what bugs and features did you work on this week?"
If only there was a platform that we could track all these things... 🤦♂️1 -
Last day at work this week, feeks good.
On Friday I am flying to Frankfurt to meet up with other Star Citizen fans at CitizenCon -
I am working as a freelance for some company, and yesterday my boss just put my pay and work on hold til next week when he is available.
So now I have a free week, with no money.
Fuck.1 -
week 37...
*knock knock*
who's there?
the mailman
the mailman who?
just the mailman...
I work at home and I live alone so no pranks here xD -
When it’s Friday afternoon and you don’t want to work anymore after a loooong week in your web agency...
Caption : your communication is dickhead ? We have a team of cocks !3 -
I committed to some work I probably should have turned down. Great people and enjoyable work but I agreed to a good hourly rate but I have a cap of 20 hours a week. I keep putting in extra hours that I don't get paid for. I want the work to be good and don't think it can be completed in 20hrs per week. The work involves mentoring others and I just can't leave in the middle of helping them. My husband is fed up with my wimpyness. I am putting off a project we are working on together to do this work. The contract will be over in 3 months. What do I do?3
-
WTF!!! My company where I'm working on strictly follows the EICC rules but you can be asked to work more than 12 hours or even 7 days a week to provided the production support and requirements.4
-
I have fuckloads to finish... deadlines due to last week... and im so screwed to a point that I cant work on anything. It's pointless.3
-
Panic. 😟
I received two emails today inviting me for video call interviews at two companies I applied to.
I am supposed to select a date for this week or next week, but our office resumes work on Monday, the 7th.
I only have tomorrow and the day after (3rd and 4th) left for this week. I need time to prepare, so I am thinking of booking one for 4th and one for next week.
BUT
I am trying not to start the year by skipping work. I already skipped work in December because of a brief illness (lol).
I am thinking, if I go to work on that day, I might get summoned into a meeting and miss my interview. So, I have concluded that I will have to skip work on that day, but now I can't think of excuses.
Ideas? 🤔12 -
This week in my school: No access to computers until next week. Magnificent. We don't work with laptops until the 11th grade so... fuck2
-
Currently at my work they are making everyone assist to the office at least 1 day of the week, some people live in other cities, there is even one coworker that has to take a flight once a month. We don't even do anything different on the office, same work, nobody likes to come.4
-
"This semester I will take more time for my personal projects"
Week one, having to organize all the uni stuff
Week 2-4, too much homework, no time
Week 5-7, fucking midterms
Week 8-9, too much homework
Week 10, finally time to relax a bit. Probably not going to work on my project. Fuck my time planning, fuck the day for only having 24h.2 -
Week started of great.... :/
I always leave my laptop at work, except this weekend. Guess what I forgot to bring to work today.... -
// not strictly a devRant
Had a minor operation last week. Surgeon said I'd be fine to work immediately after.
I only managed a half-day at work (the day after the operation) before the pain became unbearable. That was 5 days ago - been off since.
Hate taking so much time off - halfway through a project, gonna go back to a mountain of work and a tighter deadline!3 -
!rant
Today was a good day. I finally managed to wire up the entire backend system for my portfolio using headless Drupal 8, Node and React. And it happend after work!
Took me a week, and I'm new to the techniques. :D1 -
A week ago I raised an issue claiming I couldn't ping service x and that it was blocked
Today I figure out ping is blocked on firewall level and http requests work fine
Guess that's my big blunder this internship2 -
This week I'm doing construction work -- renovating my balcony. Just now I've finished with HTML - hanging drywall ceiling. Tomorrow will start on CSS - putty.
Damn, it's so gooood no not think about computers!6 -
Prepared my first own Pathfinder Campaign over the last week. Three hours before it starts someone calls it off.
A week of work thrown in the garbage. Feels good.5 -
Spend all week waiting on my VM to be setup so I can actually work and get caught up... Crash it in 5 minutes... On a holiday weekend 😓
-
I am currently in a school to learn web development. In September, I have to find a company to switch between school (1 week) and work (3 weeks).
Yesterday, I went to an interview. I learned that they work exclusively with WordPress, on Windows and with Dreamweaver! 😱😱3 -
After a long week, bringing work home this weekend, this made me open the most satisfying smile. Thanks @dfox and @trogus, from a pt-BR dev2
-
Started working with React Native a week ago because of work, and I just hate it. I know it has better performance then, lets say Ionic, but holy shit its a torture for me to work in it. I never was, and will be a fan of React, so imagine working with it for 8 hours a day..2
-
Spilled coffee on my keyboard 3rd time this week.. guess who don't want to work and need a vacation1
-
Just remembered that I forgot to add my Google apps work email to my phone after I reset it a week ago. 😓

Life as a Software Engineering intern so far,
Travel 10 miles everyday from home to workplace.
Week 1: Understand the existing stack and start working on Django + Angular JS.
Task : Add something to existing documentation.
Week 2:
Task : Start working on existing product and improve request and response time for a particular module.
Week 3: Shift to new stack. Learn new stuff and start again.
Mandatory work policy for 9.5 hrs. FML -
Today was my last day before taking a week off from work. When I originally pushed my branch, GitHub knew I had 7 files changed. I squashed my commits and pushed so that there was one commit. GitHub then decided I had Infinity files changed. Fun way to end the week, posting “I *swear* that I didn’t just put up a PR for review before taking a week off that has Infinity file changes.”6
-
I just want to thank Windows 10. Because of 3 updates in a week I got to do almost no work, spend 4hrs understanding why I was in a recovery mode loop, and make me lose a days worth of work by hiding the only folder I stupidly left on my C drive post update.
Without this I’d actually have to do work to get paid, and that’s just gross. -
Got a new job, joining next week, feeling scared and wondering how my co-workers will be, and if I will be abke to do assigned work properly ! I know the stuff but still..3
-
Visited my previous company today and found out that they are doing a big release today. Hm, its Friday, holidays, they won't work next week.. Well.. gg gj hf2

Team lead has no idea whats going in project , who is doing what work , nothing at all. Come to our team once a week and got award for successfully managing the project.
Real bullshit4 -
You know you are off to a good week when it starts like this....
"Happy Monday everyone! Welcome to work! By the way we just sold the company last week!"
😶 This is going to be a very long week...1 -
It's been 1 week since I started my first Job. Currently I am given task to do bug fixes on WordPress. In 1 week time I am already under extreme pressure. Today is Friday and I need to look at 3 different projects. Plus on top of this I am new to WordPress. I sometimes go home and continue the work to meet the strict deadline. God this is hard!!3
-
Super easy to get motivated to work on my own projects every Friday: I look back at how many and how difficult the things I worked on during the week. I take how much I got paid and divide it by the sum of (numProjects * difficulty(1 to 4)). If I spent anywhere near that number on just coffee this week, well then Friday afternoon goes towards working on my own projects (yeah Friday morning- still have a lot of work to do and coffee to drink.)1
-
At job
Im ready to work on a new web site.
Wait for content... Wait for content... Wait for content... Wait for content... Wait for content
You have 3 week to do it completely
🤔🤪2 -
You'll have less of a work to do the following week if you
git push origin master --force
on Fridays -
Ahh... Friday.... in Summer.... 1 week before vacation....
I'm amazed I even got to work today... But very disappointed in the amount of work I actually was able to do... Don't feel like starting anything new... 😪😪😪😪😪
Is one 10am and add you can see In sorta slacking off already...1 -
Ok, so we know you've not had any work to do for a week. Here's what we'll do - pick up this task to copy & paste shit code from one project to another. Don't worry yourself with what it does.
FMDL3 -
For the past one week I have been getting late for work due to this fucking traffic. This shit sucks. And I am stuck solving shitty bugs in a fuckghetti code. I feel burnt out as fuck and now I have to work Saturday as well.

I just came across a website where someone used a <marquee> *and* a <blink> tag. That was the most interesting thing that happened to me all week so far. Too bad (luckily) blink doesn't work anymore.7

I was typing a rant about this deadlines of a legacy project I have to work on but I'm just too tired/stressed/angry todo so... Maybe in a week or two when the fucker is finally done...1

MFW I accidentally ran "rm -rf /" on my work PC last week. This is what happens when I skip my morning coffee.3

Why I love being in development... Gas/petrol shortage in the east coast? Work from home week! Woot Woot!

I can't handle the three projects a week I have in my school, I made like 60 hours of work last week. How do you do guys?!4
-
We have three sprint refinement meetings per week without any work. We just spent today's 1 hour refinement meeting without uttering a single word. Dumb Management 🤦🏻♂️2
-
So... This is the deal... I'm currently working part time (15 hours a week) while studying. We have a pretty hectic week at school and my boss is in the states. He told me I could take the week off. Great!
I now have a mailbox close to exploding and 20+ hours of work that has to be done this week. Bye bye weekend -
Mounjaro side effects are kicking my ass. Second week somehow worse than the first week.
First week, day after shot was the worst. Had really bad nausea and only managed to eat 10 saltines. All day.
Second week, two days after shot, woke up just in time to go to the bathroom and projectile vomit (making me acutely aware of the fact that I haven’t puked in *years*). Took that day and the next off work.
Now I’m feeling a lot better on the puke/nausea front, but constipated as heck, desperately hoping that that resolves soon, and going back to work.
But self-reflections are due.
Y’all don’t know how much I hate writing self-reflections.
But I’ve lost almost a pound a day the last 10 days, so … yay?2 -
Scope creep and hidden requirements. Project seemed to get bigger every week. 4 months salary for 7~9 months of actual work.

Work From Home
I was in kitchen , my client messaged me and in hurry to reply her back , rushing towards my laptop, I fell and got bruises on my knee :(
Will take atleast one week to heel3 -
Screw DataStage
Screw Saleforce
Screw the $25k/week Vendor who finishes work maybe 60% complete, if I’m being generous.
Screw the business rushing to us to fix their shadow IT cluster.5 -
Going from a project in fire and 60+ hours a week back down to in-between projects and 40 hours a week. For the first week I was so confused on what I should be doing. Now I realize I have time for my own projects. I bet my work like goes crazy just as soon as I get into something.
-
While everyone celebrating week end is coming meanwhile i work friday to sunday, and holiday for the rest of the week
-
Finished a task at 4:40 PM a Friday, when office close at 5, what a beautiful beginning of week-end !
-
The feeling when you've spent a good week working on making super new tech work with super old tech... and finally get it working.
On cloud nine ATM. -
Best feeling I've felt all week: Even though I don't have time today to install it, I got Wi-Fi on the minimal install ISO of Gentoo to work with almost no configuration. My shitty ass dongles actually work???
-
A peace of work to be done within 2 weeks for 3 devs
1 dev gets pulled off the team, the other decides now is a good time to take a 2 week holiday
So am the only one left and because the designs weren't even ready for the first week i only had a week to do it, i managed to finish it with some defect obviously, and testing oh yes the testing non, non whatsoever. Only test i had were snapshots. Other than that, nothing. So the demo seemed to please everyone and the whole team got praised for some gr8 work, work that was estimated for 3 but done by one and hah no testing...yet1 -
How can a software developer be too incompetent to send a mail to the correct adresse.
My boss sent one to my private adress, instead of my work adress. I mean I know, autofill, but still second time this happened in one week..6 -
I was in college till April. And joined a job midway through May!
Now I work only on weekdays! And the gap in the middle is the exam week! -
It's just Tuesday and I'm fed up of the week already.
Weekend can you come quickly? You are the closest thing to an illusion that I actually get a break off work but in actual life, I just get to work remote. -
Sometimes the only options you have are bad ones. But you still have to chose. My life right now. Ah welp3
-
Me: I wish I had more time to work on my own personal projects
Also me: *takes on 2 new clients this week alone*
I do this to myself 🙃 -

I basically had to start a day late because of a doctors appointment, which was fine. But the next day when my work week actually began, I ended up passing out due to heat exhaustion. It was fairly embarrassing to say the least.4
-
How many times are you interrupted during a normal day of work? Could you estimate ( on the fly) how many hours a week you lose becuse of that?5
-
I currently don't work over 40 hours a week. When I come to work, everyone else is setup in the "war room," however my monitor and laptop are still at my desk (it's quieter with everyone out in the war room).
I have a good work/life balance, and I'm not alone. One of the other employees also refuses to work over 40 hours or on weekends. He has a PhD and teaches classes on the side. We both did at least participate in a Sunday all-day work session to get something to production.
What I'm worried about is resentment. I have taken zero vacation and was going to bank all my time, then in January take it all at once. I was going to ask for 3 weeks of unpaid on top of that so I could get a month and a half off to go south for the winter.
Even though my output has been really good while I've been working, I have a fear of resentment from others who do put in the extra time. We're all salary and none of them get paid overtime except for a one-time bonus for that Sunday I mentioned.3 -
Exam in networking in a week. It's a group project with individual presentations. No one but me have done any work until now, so I threatened leaving the group and do everything myself, which I am able to, since I have a lot of experience with this before university.
All people reacted but 1. He hasn't returned any messages nor met at campus in over a week. How should I react to this issue?4 -
2 things that piss me off as a professional developer doing contract work...
1. A fellow dev accepts a meeting invite, doesn’t show up and won’t pick up the phone.
2. A fellow dev taking a meeting in a noisy place with bad wifi.
This guy has now managed to pull #1 last week and #2 this week... -
So had a plan to do a gamejam this week seeing I had nothing planned after work but nooooooooooooooo of course everything I could ever need to do decides it needs to be done this week -.-
It's what I get for being excited I guess :-( -
Two kinds of retro PC
- used to cost $8000, needs 240v AC
- used to cost $150, can comfortably work off of 4 AA batteries a week
Both perform the same. -
Nothing makes me want to work on my own projects more than spending 40 hours a week trying to solve problems in the boring behemoth of legacy code that is my company's app. Doing everything myself seems downright peaceful in comparison.
-
getting a scam message in the work phone saying it's from a rival company is really funny, might be the highlight of my week 😂3
-
This job will eat me up.
I did not feel good last week due to my vaccine. I really don't know what happened what even after a week of it, I feel week and dizzy.
I couldn't work at all due to all this, and now the senior from my team is indirectly saying that this project is slow. I know it is slow because I couldn't work without getting 13 hours of sleep.
I am scared. I think I do not the element of good developer. I am trying my best though.
But whenever I get these kind of remarks I fail to do even the easiest thing possible.7 -
so, about a month ago I signed a contract with a company for three months of work. they've asked for 40 man hours a week, and required that I be in the office. today, they let me go because my "skills were not up to their expectations" and, "there wasn't enough work,".6
-
Thinking of logging into work to do a side project and learn some new tech.... bc I don't have time to work on it during the week...
And there's no personal use case to do this stuff...2 -
Elon Musk wanted to win the dick of the week title by forcing his employees work from office. In that post almost all the c-suit guys "I wanna be a dick too. At least once in my life before death"43
-
A project where we had to program a Tetris game on terminal with ncurses. My mate was finishing a project and was supposed to finish it on Tuesday, finally, he finished on Friday. (We had three weeks to do it in parallel with other projects).
I asked him to come in the week end : he told me that he can't come to school on week end so he said that he would work at home.
The following week, he didn't tell me that he'll join his girlfriend in another city and spend the week with her.
The last week, he didn't work, spending all his time playing baby-foot on the school hub.
I don't know why it became like this, he was a perfect mate before this project!5 -
worked on a couple projects at work for a week. Forgot to back them up to the svn. The time comes to show my boss what I've done and the files are gone. woops.4
-
That feeling when your boss knows you have a major deadline coming up Friday but has you sit in on several unrelated meetings during work hours anyway. There go my evening plans for the rest of the week.
-
That one time the product manager kept me at work with no tasks just because I came in late on a Friday (the day off here). Keep in mind I worked 14 hours for 2 days in the same week.
-
My work week will be pumped from 38 hours to 40 hours per week but the pay remains the same...
And holidays are adjusted from unlimited PTO to 32 days8 -
Be honest. Given that you're not in crunch mode. Do you actually work 8 hours every day?
I have had some days but usually it's impossible for me to do actual work as a developer for 8 full hours, 5 times a week.
I feel that (without meetings), my ideal schedule for days of normal workload would be 5 hours a day. I'm strictly speaking about focused work, actual programming. Meetings don't usually rack up more than 2-3 hours per week for me.
I do my best to be in the office during the expected hours but I can't help but feel that everything about my engagement, focus and contribution at work would be better if I could just stroll in around 10, well rested, do some actual work, take a short lunch break, go at it again and go home around 15:30...
Because I feel like this I quickly get judgemental about myself if I come in at 9 and leave around 16:30 too often during a work week.
What are your thoughts on this subject?3 -
// NO RANT
Its Thursday.
In Israel Thurdsday is the last work day of the week.. And this means:

Just got off work, pulled up to the stoplight right outside the office, and some kid texting on his phone rear ended me. That was about an hour ago. So that's how my week ended. How's yours going?2

I'm doing freelancing.
One client hires me for 30 hours/week.
And I'm are getting work irregular.
Like
1 week is full of 30 hour
1 week just 10 hours.
1 week 20 hour.
What should I do?
I try to get other project but most of are For a full time.
One Client hires me but at that time the previous client gave me a full 30 hour's work so the new client could not get enough time and gave me low ratings because of time wasting.
I'm afraid that can happen again.3 -
Is it actually that hard for the state to just publish a document online that says "You,You,You and you can go to school next week, the others need to wait 2 more weeks."
Instead, I have to hunt down information from several sources, if I can have to go to school or work next week. -
5000+ Lines of Code for one IntegrationTest means you are dping testing wrong.
1 day work on software 1 week on tests.
At least I'm now sure I didn't create a avoidable bug.2 -
I've been spending the last few days reorganizing css, js files, removing old code and rename directories. Yep its that kind of week at work...
-
nice, the way too old and confused woman i have to do work for suddenly remembered she has a meeting to showcase my mid-development app next tuesday.
she tells me on a friday the week before where i got holidays to have people build stuff in my (new) flat and i have a 1 week work travel thing next week...
i hate people ugh.
sure i can do this till tuesday, not like that shit takes weeks to get stable >;(1 -
I was at school the whole last week, and could work on my Ruby / React project the whole time, but now that I'm back to work, I forgot how to PHP 😅

Because of coronavirus we have two weeks remote work, I would say huzzah, but I took 1.5 week holidays for those days.
Btw we have 3 corona virus cases in the country 😂😭6 -
Someone I met this week that runs a marketing business approached me about contract work. huge projects, huge money, but it's "take this existing site and app, re make it, and re brand it". idk if I want to go down that path...3

This week, the only team members working is our Team Lead and Project Manager. While I respect what they do I can't help wondering what the heck they are being paid to work on while no one else is around.5

Okay. Four work days remaining this week, but still six days worth of work. My project manager sucks at maths.3

It took me an entire week to install Android Studio pressing retry a hundred times because of how crappy our internet is at work.
How do they expect us to work in these conditions! Some days it works alright, most days it's like pulling teeth.1 -
During the past week, I've lost so much focus. It's difficult to keep pushing myself to care about stuff at work. I try to get some minimal tickets done and a wiki page out, but it's wearing on me.1

This week has been all read-only.
Me: I'm bored and I need some actual work.
Boss: Be careful what you are asking for1 -
So I've been on vacation for a week now, still two days to go until I get back to work.
It's been super fun, but I am getting pretty stressed about the shit-ton of work I have to do when I come back.
How do you let go?2 -
So just got off the train to transfer to goto work...
Wait no I'm actually going home, I'm off this week! Just happens that I need to get off at the same stop...
Moment of realization felt sorta weird... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Ethernet switch is broken
This happened last week, parts of our lan was working so could still connect to our svn server but no internet at work for a couple of days bar stack overflow on my phone. -
How do you guys deal with RSI and back issues?
My back has been killing me this past week and hands are starting to strain with work and home PC use. I plan on restarting my exercising for my back.4 -
v0.1.2.1 has been released! (bumped lat number cos pypi doesn't allow overwriting files even if release is deleted)
Screenshots work on Windows, and in v0.1.3 timelapses will work too, with ffmpeg bindings, so go on and download and update next week (my target for v0.1.3)!

so obviously i can't work from there with your super fancy "4 days of work week from home (as long as it's in switzerland!!! WoW aMaZiNG" boomer plan

please end it all4 -
Got an interview with Amazon in a week. I’m at the interview loop stage where I do 5x 1 hour interviews. Anyone work at Amazon and got any recommendations on what I should study or how I should prepare?2

At my work where I work as a software developer / programmer they have these mandatory monthly safety meetings. This week was about the dangers of using your phone while walking. It was quite surreal I feel like it must have been a joke but everyone seemed to take it seriously.3

I finally have a week off and the first thing I do is start a project exploring some solutions for the project at work send help.

What's your current remote work policy?
Our CEO said we have to go back to office next week, despite government strongly recommends to work from home. He says "I don't care what government says, government is not paying our salaries. We need to produce value in this company!"
Wuuuut??6 -
I have a coding block. I blame school. I'm on break for 2 weeks. The first week just finished. I try to work on my personal projects and I just lose interest. I have the motivation and stuff but when I try to work on them, the feeling just goes away.
-
Finally nearly finished work today, time for a weeks holiday.
And even better I don't have to think about shitty old red hat 6.2 or Oracle 8i all week!2 -
Is it possible to get through a work week without hearing about a surprise requirement when the deployment is supposed to be one week from now?
Bonus points: One week from now, deployment is delayed due to more whatever shit they forgot to take care of in the biz side1 -
That lovely moment your development server manages to find a new error every day and you have to spend the new day fixing the error. This just a week from releasing the work of months running smoothly.
-
So im working for this company and we work monday to friday....and i think my CTO is "funny"...we can be free half the week with not much work to do or we actually have completed all the work that was described... but he then comes in friday evening and tells us how everything should be working on monday....what everything?! What fucking everything?!!! Mind you we don't come in saturday or sunday......the everything he is talking about is suggestions we had made to him about how the system should work and he said no....now he thinks its a better thing to do....and he pushes all those refactors on the last day of the week....we had all week nigga what the fuck!!!....

Heading to NDC Minnesota for the week. Hopefully going to get a chance to learn some cool new stuff! If anything it will be a break from work and kids, and maybe some time to actually code!
-
Does anyone else get terrifying headaches at the end of a work week? By work I mean any type of computer related work?8
-
I have so many things on my to learn list and it's just keeps getting longer every week DX
I need to figure out how to be motivated after work1 -
How much time do you actually spend working?
I personally work 10 hours per week at my job. The rest of the time I watch YouTube or something like that. I have massive quilt because of this, but everyone is happy with my work.7 -
How do you guys balance work, projects and family?
I work 40 hours a week, plus 15-30 hours a week on my own projects. I feel like I don't have enough time for my family(SO) at times.3 -
Spent a week writing my own orm because I didn't think codesmith would work with my project. After it's finally done, a co-worker tells me I can just add a reference to the existing orm project solution and use that. Fml

Then you have shit storm of work all week and friday night is for heavy drinking to feel f-ed up all weekend to reset yourself for next week...
-
When does a developer life turn into a nightmare?
I’m still an intern, senior in school.
All the work I had to do so far was easy, I would get a task to work on for a week and finish it in a day.
When does work really get challenging ?9 -
Just wondering how many hours a week do most programmers work in your country? How many days a week, and is overtime usually expected from you?14
-
Last day of a two week verification, I went to delete a duplicate folder. Instead I deleted the production folder. Never work on Allegra and zirtec. Luckily it was early in the morning and we only list about an hours work, from the day before's backup.
-
Work on something locally for a week. Everything works. Take a copy of the production db and run update scripts to the copy to make sure it goes smoothly. Nothing works. Damn.
-
My process for estimating dev work?
3 hours a day of uninterrupted dev time, 4 days a week (~12 hours a week).
So when I say the project will take 24 hours, it is about two weeks worth of work.2 -
When I work extra hours on weekends, so I can finally take a break from Microsoft Word and write some code for a change. It's going on for a second week now, if not longer 😢
-
Last week, I was stuck with an annoying bug. Come to work today, reverted back to the previous commit, started over and everything worked.
I guess this is (it was working on my machine)^(-1) -
today is my 1 year here at work
got a new desktop last week
then yesterday bought some UPS for it then back at the office my 1year old partner (laptop) decided to die on me1 -
You know what, I’ve spent the past month and a half doing all the team’s crap work like SOX compliance, vendor software updates, etc. I’m taking a week to just work on what I want and everyone can go F themselves if they don’t like it. Anyone complains, I’m happy to let them do the 10pm - 3 am implementations.1
-
Things that wasted my time this week:
bash in my .cshrc
Using the wrong application to open waves.
Logs after an if(a thing) return;
Updating i3-gaps and using my config and it locking up.

Not a bad week :) -
When you're so busy with work that you haven't had time to shower in a week, your eyes have purple sockets, you've had 20 hours of sleep over 5 days and you've missed an entire week worth of e-mails.
-
Actually looking forward to work tomorrow, a colleague spent last week implementing web sockets to our communications server, this week I now start to strip out all of our Ajax polling (in some cases it is polling every 150ms) and replace with web sockets!
After three years of asking and waiting I can finally remove the last annoying bit of code from our software 😄 -
Back from a 2 week holiday, inbox says 100+ messages
What is your back 2 work routine to get the current project status?1 -
So I have given this small project, which should be a work of maximum a week.
But unfortunate things are happening. I couldn't work for week due to some personal things so took a week off. And now can't be productive because another thing happened.
I have been a very slow developer and it's been 4 years in industry. People with less skills are earning more.
I don't know what my colleagues or stakeholders must be thinking about me.4 -
Ending my internship this week. Past couple of months have been really stressful. Being a startup, I assumed the workload would be high but never guessed it would be this much. They make the interns work just as hard as the full time employees for less than 1/4th the pay. Is it always like this at startups? Man, never worked for more than 8 hours before but 12-14 hours of work is normal here. I just want to survive the week. Wish me luck!1

When one thing append ( girlfriend bios brick ).. all the shit append at the same time ( HDD badsector, production fuk up, migration that work on local not work on production, etc ) this week is shit jezzz4

I just dont. I love my work so I work way to much: fulltime Job as dev project lead in a big advertisment Company, additional to that i work part time as a teacher in a school for it students (15h/week) and then I have 2 customers as freelancer for the weekends :)2

4 Step Plan:
1: Have a new idea
2: Work on it
3: Forget about it a week later
4: Pause project till forever! -
Does anyone here work for an agency that's successfully adopted a 4 day working week? If yes then I'd be curious as to how you made it work4

My girlfriend is taking pictures at work tomorrow.
She told me so many times this past week, that I feel the need to share.

I'm usually really productive when I work from home. At my Seattle gig, I worked from home 3~4 days a week (most of my team was in New York City anyway). My current company does not do remote work well, and I've been terribly unmotivated. Our useless manager took the entire week off to work on his house he's trying to rent out.
I'm usually not one to worry or panic or even check the news, yet I've found myself doing that all the time now.
It's been very surreal. -
When the teacher asks you to design a class hierarchy and after a week designing he comes and says "You know what? We'll work with a design a I made" and throws your design to the trash2

The ransomware which has been affecting many places over the weekend is named perfectly for how I feel going into work this morning after being away for a week training wannacry.

Last week:
Me: ++'s a rant. "Hey! That person was spot on!
Forgot about it.
This week:
Me: ++'s same rant. "Damn, this person is on fire!" Noticed that the number of ++'s dropped by one.
You guessed it. Same rant.
Should really stop smoking weed and reading deviant during work hours...1 -
So the restaurant I work for get interns to "revamp" the employee website (says so right on the page). The site didnt work the first couple days they had it up. Then it was fine for a week. Now everyone is getting a 404. I had thought about working as a software engineer for home office, but now Im not sure I want to since they cant even get a website working correctly for more than a week.

Logging a week of work on Redmine is taking me ages, I wonder if I'm retarded or Redmine UX is shitty. Likely both.1

It's been a week I'm using notion to keep track of my work.
I gotta say it is worth the time of keeping the track.
It also helps maintaining the important tasks
