How MS Office came about:

In the office suite I think the top guys stayed for Excel. These guys, are so good. They build Access. But it was always after 6pm on saturdays.

The "I know stuff, and I'll figure things along the way" guys stayed with Word. And in their part time, developed Powerpoit.

Excel guys were so great, they also developed the WordArt and later the SmartArt for Word and Powerpoint!

Thats why we still have that awefull blue and red-wine colours as default...

Currently working on a new project with a group of people, (about 8 guys, no ladies 😒).

Anyways, out of the eight, there are only 3 devs, 3 designers and 2 main idea guys. I'm a member of all 3 sets and to top it of, the other designers don't know what they are doing.

Why some (ok, a lot of) sales and buying guys are there just to transform any service experience in something bad?

In my experience, most sales guys promises anything, with absurd deadlines and it's up to you to make it work. Things never get good enough and, after all, the client doesn't like the work, you don't like and the sales guy doesn't like you could not make a perfectly task.

Buying guys are even worse when buying services. Email 30 developers in BCC: "Hi, I need this done by tomorrow morning and I would like to know how much you charge for it. I need your proposals in the next 30 minutes". He closes the deal with the fastest and cheapest proposal.

So some guys at my brother's college made a sports live score app, which charges 1$ for getting score. He decompiles it, and what we see is bewildering, it is not obfuscated and the link to the json values are hardcoded in the app and the whole login process is just a sham. So recently I saw a rant about a e2e encrypted social network and started to consider the idea, what do you guys / brother in code think about it

What kind of projects are you guys currently working on? What technologies are you using? I'm personally thinking about starting to use the MEAN stack to get a working knowledge of it and how it works...

At many phases of life, i had 3 choices : the difficult one , the average one and the wrong one.

I questioned the difficult one as it was too pointless to go on with, uncomfortable to follow and stressful to practice. Some guys chose that.

I pulled myself away from the wrong one because my parents always reminded me of the implications. Some guys still chose that

I went on with the average one because it was comfortable and cozy and didn't caused any Unknown chain of reactions. A lot of guys chose that.

The results?
The guys who chose the difficult ones became the pioneers/winners

The guys who chose wrong one became addicts and shame to society

The guys who chose the average one later chose the difficult one and became pioneer/winners

I took the average choice ,and then kept on taking the average choice and is getting the unique designation : "looser"

Must choose the difficult option next time :/

When it comes to a new project. I think what I dislike the least is building the mobile navigation. Especially when there's multiple

I can remember a while ago, I went to a meetup, and listened to some guys speaking about angular 2.
And I thought good for them! One day I might get proficient enough to speak about something before this many people, while actually knowing the topic well enough for it.
Today, I held a presentation before 70+ guys about Vue & Quasar framework at the exact same place. Wasn't flawless ofc, but they said I pretty much nailed it.
I'll treasure it as a great accomplishment for years to come. Love my job! 🙂

We were royally pushed/screwed over today due to PM's last minute demands for a phone app that they were demoing to 1000's at a conference. Guess what, certain elements broke. But the guys jumped in to get the API fixed. It's a bit much being the only phone dev on the team but with such strong backend support, it makes it a pleasure to come into work. You know who you guys are. Thank you. Remember a little support makes all the difference in the workplace.
